Please join Judith M. Atkinson and Joël Tibbits for the opening reception of "The Return of the Goddess." Local artist Judith M. Atkinson’s installation of painting draws inspiration from her travels to Greece and Italy and her passion for Western art history and archaeology to tell a story of feminine empowerment. The Return of the Goddess immerses the viewer into a vivid and transformational experience that incorporates the Greek Goddess Athena with Cycladic figures, class...ical Greek architecture and interstellar images. The exhibit is complimented by sound design using original composed music by Joël Tibbits to add depth to the imagery. This is a powerful and unique exhibit honouring the ever present power and guidance of the feminine. I'm really so excited about the Painting in Tuscany tour that I'm leading for Langara Continuing Studies Educational Travel. We are leaving September 5th to 16th, starting in Florence then heading down to Cortona, and then down to out villa in Pierle to paint the Tuscan landscape. And then, and excursion to Assisi to paint, and then back to the villa/farmhouse to paint. Then we head back to Cortona, and then on to Florence for a farewell dinner. It will be truly benissimo!
