Are you having one of those days? You know what I mean where everything seems like "meh." Fam, I've been there, especially with most of us indoors as of late. I can't wait for sunnier, warmer days. but for now, here is what you can do to add quick hits of happiness: 1. Drink water (dehydration can make you cranky) ... 2. Exercise (Every act of movement helps) 3. have a good laugh (laugh till your belly buss) 4. Read 5. Enjoy some comfort food (burgers, anyone?) 6. Vent... but give it a time limit 7. Cuddle the pup, kids, or spouse 8. Wear something bright (it changes the mood) 9. Recognize things get better 10. Call a friend What are your quick hits of happiness? Share in the comments. See more

Here's just a girl, showing some options for #NewYears, even though for most, including myself, celebrations will probably be with our immediate family at home. This is the last day of 2020, good or bad, it's been one heck of a year that for most of us, will never forget. Happy New Year everyone.

Sometimes you try to conquer the , and sometimes you try and conquer the tobogganing hill.

Welcome to our #firstsnowfall and lockdown. This me looking snow dead in the eye asking, "Are you serious?" Raise your hand if you weren't ready for the snow or this lockdown.....? I recognize that being back on lockdown mode can be difficult, and for some, quite lonely. ... While we go through this second round, consider this: Check in on friends and family. Love on them, you both need it. We need that social connection - even if virtual. Support local businesses. The holidays is the perfect time to show support and helps keep them operating. Stay close to your normal routine. Add some consistency to you daily routine. Be kind to yourself. This is a lot to take on. Sometimes it's okay to not be okay. We will get through this together. What will you be doing to keep sane during this lockdown or restrictions? #veganleather #veganfashion #freespirit #bohotrend #sweaterweather #layering #lookofday #fallfashion #sophistication #judytothejames #sustainablefashion #over40 #ontariofashioninspo #letsgetsocial #lockdownmode #winteroutfits #casualworkouts

When you get the news that the kids will be back in school shortly, I'm somewhat nervous, but I'm trusting the experts. "I love you, but you've got go, with love.... mommy." I’ve done a lot of work to get where I’m at, but I have to keep working. Wiz Khalifa Being different is hard..... Not all people of colour have the same experience, particularly when it comes to the lemons we are dealt.... My story is completely different from those in my circle, those I work with, and those who I connect with on and offline. "Putting all people of colour into one category, even when attempting to emphasize certain voices, can still effectively diminish their individual experiences and cultural identity." - Crystal Raypole I do this because I know someone out there can relate. Not just another pretty face, although, I do look cute in this outfit. #blackmomfly See more

Midsize hack - what do you do if you want elements of comfort while adding everyday style? You add a little bit of spice, of course. I love clothes that are versatile and works with a variety of options. It saves time and, more importantly, saves that coin. I tried something different and paired a tie-died tracksuit from motivation loungewear brand @thehustleneverdies (Canadian-owned btw). ... The result? You've got outfits that work in any occasion (work, play, loungin'). How to pull this off? 1 Play with loose and tight-fitting clothing. 2 Work with colours that compliment the sweats. 3 Don't be afraid to break up the combination. 4 Have fun with it. On this #BlueMonday and #MartinLutherKingDay, I'm taking a moment to take time to reflect on the positive! We are two weeks into schooling from home, and I'm giving some praise to this little guy and the school that support him. Virtual education is tough, period. Add additional challenges and learning deficits and, for some, impossible. #KingzyBaby thrives on in-school participation, and since September, we have seen significant gains in his learning and development. ...When rumours started to circulate around a potential shutdown, we were nervous. - What would he learn while at home? - How will the school continue to support his style of learning? - How long will this shutdown last? - How can I balance work and give him the support he needs? When the shutdowns became a reality, the goal was just to through the first couple of days. Many meetings were had, plans developed, and strategies addressed. What I can say, Kingston's school has been excellent every step of the way. He attends a full class session in the morning and a one-on-one session in the afternoon. I like that during his full class session, his teachers make it a point to include him in their various activities. He loves his one-on-one time where he can sing and dance, run through his letters and numbers, and read his favourite books. The fact that he is engaged the whole hour amazes me as he rarely sits still. Offering chips also helps. Parents, I know it's been rough, believe me. We've made it this far, and we will continue to progress. I'd love to hear your experiences, share in the comments below. See more

No makeup, no fashion, just real and honest discussion. We can all agree that yesterday was a lot, like a lot, a lot. Once again, we watched #whiteprivilege in all its glory. Whether you agree with those who stormed the Capitol or not, something needs to change. "When Black folks are protesting, and progressives are protesting peacefully, they were tear-gassed, they were arrested, they were shot with rubber bullets. They were shot with real bullets," Derrick Johnson, ...president, NAACP. This is not a black or white thing; this is something that affects everyone who is considered the "other." The US is at a pivotal moment to rise from the ashes or continue on a path of destruction. Although we are not directly involved, it's our responsibility to speak out against injustice. Broaden the message that Black Lives Matter, Indigenous lives matter, LGQTB+ matter. You, family, matter. See more
