Gonna be going live at 4 p.m. EST tomorrow to talk about my creative process (and how I get through it when it becomes *a bit strenuous) I’d love to hear about some of the ways y’all deal with *insert passion here* block as well, so please feel free to join in!

Though this is a call for screenwriters, I think it’s also a source of encouragement for writers and artists alike! The entertainment business is definitely a tough one but there’ll always be an opportunity waiting if you continue to work

Does anyone else have trouble watching movies? Believe it or not, I’m a film major and if I’m not hooked in the first 15 minutes, I’ll usually tune back in around the hour and a half mark and start scrambling to put all the pieces together before it ends Don’t even get me started on a 2+ hour picture lol.... I’ll probably just knock out... But, the answer to all our problems (or maybe mine if this’ just a weird me thing): shorts lol! Check some of these out and let me know what you think!

One of the best parts about being in this industry is getting to collaborate as well as witness my fellow colleagues’ projects. My friend, Huong is one of the most talented filmmakers I know so definitely check out her page when/if you have time. I promise you won’t regret it

For any emerging writers or people just bored out of their skulls searching for something to do, why not try your hand at scriptwriting? I’ll definitely be there (and it’s free lol)

For anyone who’s as much of a superhero nerd as I am, please enjoy looking at some of the intel that went into my personal favourite/best action films of the 21st c.-

Obviously I’ve been leisure writing a lot more than I usually have time for (so.. thanks COVID lol?) but does that mean I have three million scripts good and ready to go? After being in the house since March you’d think I’d have at least one but.. Nope! still chipping away lol because before you write a word, you gotta complete 4 basic things: ... 1. The three dimensions of every.single.character (I’m sure we’ve all watched a film that has characters who just.. barely seem like people and that’s because they weren’t fleshed out properly so this step is super important) 2. Your beat sheet! (Bonus points if you know what this is because I definitely didn’t lol but once you know your characters, you can understand their actions, why they do the things they do and how that moves the story forward) 3. Your act structure. This kind of goes hand-in-hand with the beat sheet but mapping out your plot points helps give the story a framework that 1) helps you stay on track and 2) acts as a guiding principle if you get stuck (like I usually do) and 4. Your logline! A 50-75 word description that sums up your film’s central narrative Now I didn’t necessarily put those in order but what do you think comes first and in turn gives you the best chance for success?
