At the Feb 16 meeting of the GECDSB, the design for the new Jk-12 build on Jasperson Lane was approved without amendment. Next steps: on to the Ministry approval to go to tender, receiving and awarding a tender and fingers crossed, construction starts this summer. A long awaited project with prospects of a shovel in the ground within a few months.

The Government of Ontario has declared a Second Provincial Emergency. Update: Schools in the GECDSB will be reopening for in person learning Feb 8, 2021. The local Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has issued an order regarding closure of schools for in-person learning effective Dec 14-18: all elementary and secondary school students to transition to online/remote learning effective for one week from December 14 to 18, which will bring students into the school holiday break.
