Dottie was working on her modelling poses today while enjoying some sun bathing.

Today I decided I would video tape my encounters with Ducky when she’s in heat. Pigs need to be spayed and neutered to make good house pets. Heck, Ducky has free roam of my 100 acres and she still will hunt me down to try to jump me when she’s in heat. So really, all mini pigs indoor or outdoor should be spayed.

Ducky is a fine example why all my female piglets go home spayed. Ducky will chase people down our 1/4 mile driveways trying to get them when she is in heat.

Dottie sometimes likes to rest with her bum in the air and her head in my lap for car rides. Silly Dottie.

These two sure make us laugh a lot. Dottie is the girl who’s happy to be fed and hang out in her cage. Sir Hamilton like to find new ways to get into trouble. Every once and a while Sir Hamilton can convince Dottie to join in on his adventures. **No pigs were lassoed in the making of this video. Just a 7 year old wanting to be apart of the video.**

Piper prefers snout photos over her whole body. Piper is one of our four pigs that have free roam of our 100 acres. You can normally find Piper tanning around the house or the barn when it’s warm out. Once we start getting our Canadian winter she will be hiding under a 3 foot straw pile.

Did you know that tying a bow or ribbon to your pigs tail even for a short time can cause poor circulation and the result is the loss of the tail? Please do no...t tie anything in your pigs tail, even two days will result in loss of tail. (Thank you to this kind family for sharing this tragic story with all of us, they love this little pig, and are heartbroken they didn’t know about this before.) Any negative comments will be removed. Ducky though she won the lottery today when I gave her a cupcake.

Since Ducky just lives for attention, she decided to have a nap under me while I lay on the trampoline to get some sun on my ghost coloured legs.

Piper is my mud loving girl. She likes playing in the mud even when it’s not hot out.

We received some crazy hail at the farm tonight. I am happy to say all animals stayed safe in their houses.

One of my pigs decided a morning mud kiss was in order. I guess I wasn’t feeding fast enough as I was busy giving pets to his siblings.

The pigs love summer, fruit and veggies are always so delicious when fresh, plus the all the sun bathing they get to do. We will have some happy pigs here today. They are getting some watermelon for a treat. That is if I don’t eat it all while cutting it. Fruit for mini pigs should only be a treat since it’s high in sugars. We like to feed Sharp’s Mini Pig feed along with veggies and one egg a day for their main food.

You can always tell when it’s deworming day at the farm. The mini pigs are very smart and can smell the dewormer and a lot of the times won’t open their mouths. We find giving them a peppermint patty help cover the smell of the dewormer so they will open their mouths and we can just squirt the dewormer in their mouth. All our animals at T & N Acres gets dewormer every 6 months.

Tonight I went to give Piggy Smalls a kiss, instead he tried to open mouth kiss me. Silly Piggy Smalls, only snout kisses are allowed. Please don’t mind my silly face, the camera caught my what the heck Piggy Smalls face.

I am so excited. Guess who had a date today, Piggy Smalls and Cupcake. These babies will be ready to go home a couple weeks after Christmas. I will be allowing people to visit their Piglets Christmas afternoon incase it’s a Christmas gift for the family. Please message me if your interested in a mini pig application. Day 8: This is grey we rescued him from the Calgary Humane Society 2 years ago. When we got him home, we didn’t find him for a whole month. We were warned not to try to pet him as he was not socialized. We are very lucky as Grey has turned out to be everything and more we could of wanted out of a barn cat. He thinks he’s one of the goats and sheep’s. You will find him a lot of the times in the middle of our hay field enjoying a snack with the other animals. Sorry for the Ducky photo bomb, it’s pretty hard to get a picture with out a pig sneaking into the photos.

One thing I have learned while owning a farm, I am horrible at sheep sheering. Thank goodness for great neighbour kids who know how to sheer and fix my horrible hair cuts.

Meet the people behind T&N Acres. The lady to the left is my sister Dawn and I am on the right. Dawn is 3 years older then me. She has shared the same mini pig obsession as me since we were young. Even though we were city kids, we always knew one of us would own a mini pig when we grew up.

Day 7 This old girl is Cherry. She has been by my side through thick and thin. I bought Cherry as a adult dog off kijiji when I was 17. She can’t hear anymore but her brain still thinks she’s a puppy. When Cherry is not napping in the sun you can find her walking around our farm checking on all the animals.

Day 6 Speedy, back when I could carry his chunky butt. Poor speedy is the type of pig who just looks at food and becomes round. Speedy is a neutered male from Cupcakes litter two years ago. Speedy has made appearance at last years Calgary Pet Expo along with a companies wellness fair. Anymore who gets the chance to meet Speedy falls in love with him instantly.

Day 5 This is Ducky, she is know to try to break into the house a couple times a day. We will never have perfectly clean exterior house doors because of this lady. She loves human attention. Ducky is know to flop down on her side for a belly rub before you even start rubbing her tummy.

Day 4 This handsome boy is Ike. He is a 10 year old quarter horse gelding, I bought him as a 5 year old from the states. Ike’s bring my family a lot of happiness and laughter with his playful ways. He will take away, your drinks, cell phone, poop fork or even tools, nothing can be left near this guy.

Day 3 This is Boy Rainbow Rock, my son named him. Him and Pearl cause us the most amount of headaches at the farm. If something can be broken he will break it. He also gives us lots of laughs. Boy Rainbow Rock likes to bite human bums when no one is looking. He also could spend hours rubbing the his face on your hip. If Boy Rainbow Rock see your feeding a treat to any animal on the farm he has to come and steal it and eat it.

Day 2 This is Piggy Smalls he is 3 years old boar. Piggy Smalls is the gentlest and bravest pig I have ever met. He will let you pick him up with one hand and not make a peep. Piggy Smalls has had baby piglet sneak into his cage and try to nurse on him or steal his food. He would just lay down and let them take over his cage. A couple years ago I had these two tiny tiny piglets who would sneak into his cage when ever their momma was outside having a sanity break.

Every day starting today, I am going to introduce one of our animal that lives here at T & N Acres. Day 1 is Miss Maple. She is a two year old American Mini Pig. Miss Maples favourite things are cuddles and food. Maple also likes to take her self on long walks searching for belly rubs. Maple has not had any litters yet as she’s enjoying the single life at the moment.

Some of our chickens were moved beside one of our pig cages yesterday. The pigs and a chicken were super fascinated with each other.

Yesterday a couple of our pigs got new chicken next door neighbours. One of the pigs kept doing zoomies. It was adorable, I could hear and see him from my bedroom window. Nothing is cuter then a happy pig running as fast as he can in big circles.

Some of our adult sows enjoyed rolling in mud and going for a walk in our hay fields this afternoon.

Flicka is one of two therapy pony we have here. He used to go to hospital, hospice and old folks home to help bring some smiles the the people around him.
