Here is the Valentine's Message I offered at church this past Sunday: (written by Rev. Monique but inspired by the theology and words of Julian of Norwich and others). You are the product of original goodness, of a profound love that sought to create you.... God is not separate from you God, your creator, is within you in your heart and your head, your hands and your feet. The work of God is done through you and through all of creation. You have been created in the image of God every single aspect of who you are is a reflection of the Creator your perfections, and the aspects of you that are perfect even when you, and the society around you, have deemed them imperfect. Evil is the illusion of separation from God and the world is good at participating in that illusion. As such you will still participate in and be impacted by the mistakes, doubts, sorrows and grief of this world. You are not alone in this challenge. You have no less capacity and value than the Archbishop of Canterbury or any of the Disciples you read about and you have no more capacity and value than the homeless person on a street or person in jail capacity and value is an equality shared by all. You are good You are sacred You have been made by love, you are loved, and you are called to be love in the world around you.

In the midst of COVID many of us have been unable to attend funerals of loved ones and our capacity to reach out to our friends and family in the traditional ways that bring us and others comfort at a time of loss has been limited. Please see details in the attached letter and send an email if you would like a loved ones name read during the liturgy at 8am and 10am this coming Sunday, November 1st.
