Great #ResultsCanadaMeeting with #Davenport resident Eugenia & colleagues on how Canada can take action to stop the spread of #COVID19 on an international level to #EndCovidEverywhere. Canada has the opportunity to invest 1% of the country’s COVID-19 response (CA$1.5 billion) towards an emergency global response. This effort will ensure that every corner in the world has equal access to COVID-19 diagnostic tools, vaccines, and medicines. "No one is protected from the risk of... COVID-19 until everyone is protected. -Dr. Theresa Tam #Canada4Results #Cdnpoli #ACTAccelerator Results Canada

Today is #NationalHousingDay. Housing affordability continues to be a top priority for the federal government through our National Housing Strategy-a 10-year, $55+ billion investment to create new housing, renew existing stock & funds for community housing providers to build new affordable housing units. During the pandemic, the federal government worked directly with the City of Toronto to find safe housing for our most vulnerable; increasing support and safe spaces for wome...n fleeing domestic violence and funding safe spaces for the homeless. $1 billion was committed for modular housing- small-scale infill housing, connecting people experiencing homelessness with stable housing and supports. One of the first projects is now under construction in #DavenportTO, at 150 Harrison, and will include 44 units. The fed govt has also made a commitment to urgently eliminate chronic homelessness. There is so much more to do - but I am optimistic that we can accelerate our work and I believe that everyone has a right to safe housing. #HousingIsARight #NationalHousingStrategy
