Today I had to hit my own refresh/restart button. Even knowing how important self-care is to my physical and mental well-being, life can get busy and become a distraction from what's important. Quickly I begin to notice the impact of not taking care of myself. I become fatigued, my motivation slips and I get sick. It's never a bad time to hit the restart button. Today is my restart day!

I am a fan of musicals - one of my favorites is rent. There is a song called no day but today that contains words I try to live by - "There's only us, there's only this. Forget regret or life is yours to miss. No other path. No other way. No day but today." Rent soundtrack Live in the moment! Take notice of the little things along the way. Don't let the negative of yesterday seep into today. Treat today like it's the only day - no worries about the past or the future. Happy Wednesday!

While at the gym one day I saw someone wearing a t-shirt that said - "Success is not owned, it's leased. And rent is due every day!" This was 2 years ago but it has stayed with me. Success can mean something different to everyone. To me it means doing my best every day to take care of myself and meet the small goals that I set for myself as I go. To do this everyday takes effort. Happiness and success is not handed to us, it's something we achieve ourselves as we make choices and decisions along the way. We all have the ability to find success in our lives.

The April showers have begun washing away the snow and dirt of winter, renewing the plants and trees and encouraging new growth. Despite the damp and grey of April showers there's hope in the growth and beauty that follows it. Life can be like this - periods of darkness and gloom can be followed by growth and positive change.

Day 2 of rain this week. As it rains remember that the rain gives life and encourages growth - not only to the plants and animals but what seems like rain in our personal lives also encourages growth. <3
