SOLD 1430 Depot Rd, Squamish Another overdue post but we’re happy to report that this great house has sold after two collapsed offers. Yahoo! ... We can’t go into great detail but there are a couple lessons to be learned here for buyers: 1. Hire a realtor - unless you’re very experienced with real estate transactions, contract writing, and home inspections, don’t go it alone. By law, we can’t represent both parties in a transaction so if you’re a buyer who has chosen to represent yourself and you find yourself in a pickle, we, unfortunately, cannot provide you with any guidance. Also, as a buyer, you don’t pay any real estate commission so why wouldn’t you hire a realtor? 3. If you’re considering purchasing a property that you would want to make very significant changes to, hire a local realtor who knows the area and what you can and can’t do in terms of development. These suggestions are meant to help avoid disappointment and save time and effort on everyone’s part. There’s often so much more involved than meets the eye so don’t hesitate to ask for help and use the excellent resources you have available to you. It was a long road with this sale so it was a very happy day when we could post the sold sign on this one.
