Alderville Black Oak Savanna does amazing work restoring endangered grassland ecosystems. This is a beautiful example of the relationship and impact of Indigenous knowledge and presence on the land. Bring your family and learn about grassland ecosystems, Michi Saagig knowledges, prescribed burns, and the home to 28 identified species at risk.
Do we like rain and mud? We get asked this over and over. Rainy days are not bad weather. Muddy trails are not a disappointment. Spring is full of little presents, the first downpour that soaks you to the bone, the smell of the air before a storm, the perfect squelch from a mud puddle. ... So bring on the rain and mud! We love puddles!
Emily has done amazing work with our Jumping Mouse team, and we do love dreamy muddy spring track sleuthing!
"Be careful." So easy to say..but what do we actually mean? Being careful is something we learn through observing, experiencing, planning, and problem solving. Here are questions we can ask to help kids take care of themselves and others.
