My favourite part of jump rope is the exercise that I get and learning new skills. 3. What are you most excited about for this year? I’m most excited to get better at speed skipping! 4. Who is a jumper that you look up to? Eilea Given @eileagiven because she started at 6 years old and continues to work hard in skipping! 5. What is your favourite skill? My favourite skill is double unders. Audrey always tries her best at every skill I teach and smiles the whole lesson. In the past few weeks, we have learned so many skills and moved up levels quickly. I have had a great time teaching her. Keep up the excellent work, Audrey! #WorkoutWednesday - Last week's fun and challenging speed and conditioning drill was brought to us @kaitsimpson17. You will need a deck of playing cards. Going through the whole deck, you turn over each card one by one. Workout Wednesday For tonight’s speed intensive class we did a 30 minute speed drill from @lukeboon_ and @learnintheropes. It is definitely challenging but very rewarding when you finish. SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT - ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Vienna Bielicz How long have you been jumping?... 6 years What is your favourite part of jump rope? Learning new skills, pairs, and travelling to competitions. What are you most excited about for this year? I really like our new gym and I am looking forward to future competitions. Who is a jumper that you look up to? I look up to my coaches Brittany Anne and Amanda Taylor. What is your favourite trick? Cross pretzel with your arm over your head Vienna was chosen by her coaches because of her positive attitude and determination. She demonstrates perseverance when working towards her speed goals and new skills. Most recently she got her donkey kick and push up for the first time! Vienna comes to each practice with a smile and is always supportive of her teammates. Keep up the hard work, Vienna! We are very proud of you!

Athlete of the Week - MYA HRUSKA How long have you been jumping? This is my 3rd year. One year in Rec. and 2 years in Pre-Competitive.... What is your favourite part of jump rope? I like learning new tricks. There are so many to learn. What are you excited about for this year? I really want to get my double under full twist. Who is someone that you look up to? I look up to our coaches. They are super helpful. What is your favourite skill? My favourite skill is consecutive backwards double unders. Mya was chosen by her coaches because of her hard work during practice and our virtual classes. She is open to trying new skills and picks up on things quickly. This week, Mya surpassed both her consecutive power and single rope speed sprint goals achieving her wire rope. Awesome job Mya! We are proud of you
