Did You Know? It is amazing what can be recycled: drywall, cement, asphalt, electric motors, appliance cords, batteries, cushion foam, all kinds of metals, rubber, tires, plastics, wood skids, glass, cardboard and lots more. We barely scratch the surface, and could do much more. These arel all valuable resources. Yet most of these are buried in landfills. Here's an idea: people should visit a landfill sites at least once a year. The stinky experience really drives home the waste we generate. It's why we at Junk B gone are fanatical about recycling. The Region of Waterloo runs a good educational program at the Waterloo site. Check it out.

Did You Know? Pressure treated wood should NEVER be burned! The antifungal properties of the paint used is extremely toxic and evaporates into the smoke. Yuck!

Springing Into Action: Cleaning and Organizing Your Spaces. Step Number Two: With the addition of that clear uplifting dose of sunshine, the need for a good interior cleaning becomes more obvious. Cleaning from the bottom up helps to give a sense of satisfaction. Cleaning the floor first gets rid of the majority of dust and dirt, which, according to the laws of nature, sifts downward. Springing Into Action: Cleaning and Organizing Your Spaces. Step Number One: Open those windows. The air carries with it bird song and fresh aromas as new life is emerging outside. Remove your drapes, check their washing instructions and give them a good cleaning. The drapes can be returned to their rods to hang to dry. While they are in the wash or at the cleaners, carefully clean around your window frames, checking for winter damage and the possible need for some new paint or repairs. Give all your window panes a good cleaning, wiping one way on one side of the pane and the other way on the opposite side. This method makes it more clear which side needs another wipe if a spot is missed.
