Gearing up for Christmas

Christmas is coming. Time to start a few tree tea lights and gnomes.

Tomorrow is the Big Day. The Westshore Pottery Sale. Right beside the Veteran's Park Market. Near the corner of Veteran's and Goldstream.

Three More Sleeps

My friends and I are having a pottery sale in Langford. A few of us have discussed the possibilities since last year and it's finally happening. Come on out and support local.

I'm making a beer stein for a challenge. Didn't think I would keep it, now I'm obsessed with hand built beer steins. The next one will be bee themed.

Couple new things

I've slowed down potting in 2020 because there aren't any markets but I'm still making things for myself.

My friends are kindly giving up space in their kilns so I can keep potting.

All my Victoria friends. Since I won't be selling any pottery at sales in 2020, I have a lot of pots collecting. I would like to do an on-line sale (or trade). Here are some pics of what I have now. Stacks of dishes are the same pattern, maybe different glaze. Cash or trade, DM me with questions, prices, trades, more pics. Possible trades- food, crafts, labour.

With our studio shut down for the foreseeable future my friend Marlene kindly fired some pieces for me. At least now they can all be stacked in a box. They will all get finished some day.

I'm bored so here is a contest from me to you. Tell me what nice/good thing you have done for someone else or for yourself. For instance on Monday I'm going out in the world to donate blood. I saw a video called The Maker's Table where everything, food, dishes, table itself are handmade. Here's my version.The food and most pottery is by me. Other potters and artists are here too. The maple table was made in Vancouver. The honey is local, bees are artists too.

This is what I did last weekend

I spent the day at a Raku firing. One pot and sheep are reduction fired, red hot then plunged into sawdust. The other three are feather and horsehair fired. So much fun.
