Heading into our last week of dance! Reminder that we have dance TUESDAY (15th) and THURSDAY(17th) this week at regular class times. Thursday will be Winter-fest for all the dancers! Please send them dressed in red, green, black or white or any holiday outfit. This can be any thing from basic colors/clothes to onesies, pjs or fancy Christmas dresses. Long hair tied back still please. We are going to be video taping their routines this day to share with parents digitally a...s our health guidelines do not allow spectators. Outstanding accounts. Yes dance is on tonight (December 10th)! Excited to see everyone

Thursday late afternoon we got the news from the health minister that dance classes can run again Whoohoo. I am now just waiting on the district to give me the go ahead and we should be back at it this week. I am hoping to teach Thursday 10th, TUESDAY the 15th (regular times) and our final class for this session on Thursday the 17th. The new protocol will not allow for gatherings or recitals but I still want to have a fun winter wrap up for the dancers. On the 17th I... would love it if the dancers could come dressed in either black, white, red or green or any Christmas or holiday outfit they have (you don’t need to go out and buy anything). I am going to bring performance lights and make it an exciting atmosphere for them and we will film videos of their routines that I can e-mail out to all of you. We are calling it winter- fest! Thank you all for your outstanding support through all of this. I can’t wait to get back to teaching everyone Thursday morning I sent home short video links or dance music of the dancers previously in class for individuals that wanted a review. Good morning dancers. Unfortunately we still have not heard back with updates from the government so indoor activities are still temporarily suspended this week. We’ve heard that next week (week of the 7th) we are getting the information needed to be back running classes. If this is the case, I will extend the program into December and add the classes missed. I’d prefer to do this than teach the kids on line. For those that are wanting to review or practice, I am going ...to send out music lists and steps the dancers can practice with at home today. With the younger classes I’m sending ALL their step (3-4 & 5-6). Kids in this age group will most likely need guidance from parents. No pressure, I’m just sending these as a bonus if they want to practice. With my older teams 7+ I’m sending either their song title or a very short clip of their routine if they want a review. Links have been e-mailed out. If you have not received them or are not on our e-mail list please let me know. I miss everyone. Happy Dancing.

Here is the year end wrap up photography and videos! To answer a few of the questions coming in about cost of pictures this year and balance remaining on costumes ........ the answer is nothing! It was a strange year fore sure and not at all how we anticipated ending the season. There is no outstanding costume balances (we covered them ) and your photos are complimentary. Happy its officially summer everyone! Im very much looking forward to seeing and dancing with all of the students this week. I want to again emphasize this is NOT going to be as much about the performance as it is about getting together, reconnecting and giggling about who can remember the dance. There will also be some parent participation/ learning moments with some of the younger classes to keep the kids at ease, relaxed and having fun. The schedule has t...o change for one main core group due to an overlap with the grad parade and the road being blocked off at their previous given day & time . I spent the weekend contacting parents and made the best decision I could given the circumstance and chose the day that effected the least amount of dancers. Hi Everyone! I wanted to give the dates and times of our year end wrap up which will be held Thursday June 25th at the Old Fall Fair Hall. I want to emphasize that this is more about the dancers reconnecting with their team, get pictures & their costumes, learning that we can still dance (differently) in the new normal, and have a bit of closure for the dancers and hard work they put in this year. If your dancer is panicking about routines, please tell them not to w...orry, I will make it ok for them (I am looking into an outdoor space for WEDNESDAY June 24th where I can practice the dancers in a safe social distancing manor to help ease any worried hearts. Ill keep you posted on this) Now for the rules . Interior health gave us the ok to proceed under the given guidelines: 1. You must sanitize as you enter the building. 2. Dancers will be asked to stay on the marked our spaces on the floor (which is actually normal for teaching spacing in dance haha ...... dance teachers should have been in charge of social distancing all along 3. Only 2 people (parents) are allowed with each dancer and will be asked to social distance. We absolutely can not go over our 50 person maximum. I know this is a tough one. We will be video taping the numbers for those that want to be able to show extended family. 4. Please do not enter the building before your given time. We need to make sure we sanitize between each group and no children under the age of 10 can be permitted to be left unattended. It is also important you pick up dancers on time 5. For all young dancers we ask that a parent be available to help them in and out of costumes and very young dancers may have a parent hold their hand through routine if needed 6. Photography will be taken as individual shots only and live group shots will be taken of the team. 7. My 3pm combo class is too large for one go.
