Just Weed it with Amber

There was quite a bit to weed out and fix up with the front garden. It was well worth the time put into it...as you will see in future posts. Here are a few from the first and second stage. We took out the dying rose bush in the front and replaced it with a beautiful lilac tree. I've been wanting to try my hand at herbs, so I planted Thyme, Basil, Mojito Mint and Cory's favorite Rosemary. They will be known as The Front Porch Herb Garden. More to come on the front...

This was the begining, when everything changed. The world was in chaos and everyone was so confused. COVID-19 forced us to stay home, self isloate. And this is what we chose to do with the time. I

Well...I don't really know much about gardening, but I sure am trying. I really enjoy growing veggies and herbs and since I'm always posting pictures on my personal page, I thought maybe I could put a bit more effort into it and try to share on a page. So if you wanna see me plant, weed and whatever comes after that. Hopefully I can make it interesting.

As of today!! The smaller plants are starting to come alive and show their pretty faces...or heads. Either way I am loving this process. So we have green peppers, a single jalapeno, green and yellow beans, yellow and green zucchini, LOTS of different types of tomatoes. There even one that is starting to turn red. We have 5 different types lettuce and parsley. And who could forget our lovely spagetti squashes. Holy moly there is a lot. ... And for the big deal of the weekend...our new to us freezer. We got it free from a guy a block down the road. Cory walked it back to our house with a dollie and it was awesome. Blanching is coming along nicely. So far we have 3 bags of cauliflower, 3 bags of broccoli and 2 bags of green cabbage. There are still 3 more cabbages to pull out of the ground. Since there is still lots of growing time left, we got 5 more broccoli to plant. Not a bad haul so far.

Ooooooh the front flower garden is ridiculous!! And I found a surprise I wasn't expecting.....whatever could it be?!? To be continued......

Alright....time for phase 2. All the veggies and flowers are now in the spots, fed and watered. We got a little shovel happy and did our planting about 3 weeks early.... We also all got bikes around this time...clearly...we have done some pretty solid bike rides since then. One day...if the rain will give us a nice weekend, we will manage the 53km bike from Myra Canyon (East Kelowna) to Penticton...all through the back country. Oooo I want to do it so bad! ... Anyways, look at our plants...after a few weeks in the ground.
