If you are part of an organization, community group, business, etc., or just want the security of having an automatic external defibrillator (AED) at home, Costco Wholesale Canada has them on sale right now. These machines aren’t cheap and they do require minimal maintenance, but if you ever needed to use it - the dollar signs won’t matter. Just B Health & Safety provides complete First Aid and/or CPR Training - for healthcare providers, sports teams, businesses, families, ...And everyone in between. I customize my training to match your needs - and can work with folks of any age or ability. If you already have an AED, I‘m happy to provide a quick and simple demo on how to use it. *Please note that I am not in any way affiliated with Philips, or any other manufacturer of AEDs. This is not a paid promotion. Just a simple PSA. These things save lives. After 10 years as a paramedic - I promise it’s the truth. #justBReady #justBsafe https://www.costco.ca/philips-heartstart-home-defibrillator

I’ve been asked a lot lately about CPR/BLS/First Aid renewals: I finally have an answer for you! Heart and Stroke is allowing for certificates to expire until September 30/2020. *NOTE: Please check with your facility that they’ll allow for this!* ... If your work requires a renewal before then - please contact me and we will arrange for a safe renewal process! There are online options available! Thank you! Stay safe, everyone! B From Heart & Stroke: FAQ The following questions and answers can help with any questions that instructors or students have or may receive for upcoming training sessions. Does Heart & Stroke recommend classes be put on hold temporarily? Yes we recommend that our instructor network postpone classes if you have not already done so. However, we recognize it is critical for some organizations to maintain their current training schedules as CPR is a life-saving skill. If postponing training is not possible, we require instructors and participants to implement the additional personal protective equipment measures (outlined in the network communication on Friday, March 13, 2020, and below) and adhere to existing Heart & Stroke IRRP requirements for equipment decontamination during training sessions as outlined in Section 3.1: Pre-Course Precautions (beginning on page 38 of the manual). The choice to continue training is ultimately up to the instructors and training institutions. Instructors must follow the direction from their local provincial and regulatory bodies as well as their employers (if applicable). Does Heart & Stroke have a grace period for their provider and instructor certifications? Yes. In these exceptional times, Heart & Stroke will allow grace periods for different circumstances as outlined below. These temporary measures are meant to put you and the health of our community first, as well as supporting and alleviating pressures on health care professionals and our health care system. Please note timelines may be extended based on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. My Heart & Stroke completion card is expiring or has just expired. All Heart & Stroke completion cards expiring between March 2020 through August 2020 will be considered valid for entry into Heart & Stroke renewal courses of the same discipline until September 30, 2020.
