Yoga with Trish 04.06.2021

I posted a poll to my story. Our Thursday evening yoga classes are going to look a bit different this month. Instead of a separate gentle and vinyasa flow class I’ll be moving to a one hour all levels class. I’d like to offer this class at a time that works for most people. Leave a comment or go to my story to submit your best option! These all levels classes give you the opportunity to take exactly what it is your mind and body need that day. You can make these classes as gentle or as powerful as you’d like. It gives you the opportunity to really feel your way through class as opposed to thinking your way through. #yogaclass#alllevelsyoga #pranayama #meditation #yogaphilosophy #justbreathe #connect #yogaguide #prairieyoga #minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste

Thankyou to all the yogis who joined me last evening for our early spring equinox yoga practice! We set intentions that we will continue to water and watch grow not only on our mats, but off our mats as well. The next few weeks of practices will be dedicated to a spring cleaning of the mind and body and breath. Visiting familiar breath practices and movement, and exploring new ways to move our bodies and breathe. Last evening we found ourselves in Heron pose, and twisted Heron pose, honouring the poem The Peace of the Wild Things by Wendell Berry. I hope you all have a wonderful spring equinox celebration tomorrow! Here’s to a beautiful Manitoba spring and summer #springequinox#yogapractice#peaceofthewildthings #heronpose#justbreathe #meditation #gratitude #manitobayogi#prairieyoga #minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste

Exploring movement of the spine with flexion, extension, lateral movement and rotation. Gentle yoga at 530 and vinyasa flow at 7pm. Msg for the zoom link!

"Almost everything will work again when you unplug it for a few minutes...including you." -Ann Lamott If you’re looking for a total nervous system reset Suppor...ted Bridge pose is the ticket! Also, a great pose to serve as a counter stretch for a yoga sequence with a lot of forward bending. Take this pose to the next level by putting on some super chill music and covering your eyes. Heart opening Zoom yoga this evening. Gentle 530 to 630pm. Vinyasa flow 7-8pm. We will tap into the guiding space of our hearts. If you like to diffuse oils while you practice, I recommend Neroli, rosemary and lavender this evening. If you bring crystals into your yoga space I recommend Rose quartz this evening . Our heart chakra - Anahata is the bridge between body and spirit. However you come to your mats this evening the intention will be to fill the heart centre with peace. #anahata#heartchakrahealing #zoomyoga#yogapractice #connect#energy#peace#meditation #justbreathe#minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste

Anahata. The 4th Chakra. Our heart space. During our yoga practice we often are asked to bring our hands to prayer- Anjali mudra at our heart centre. But why? The explanation given by Krishnamacharya is my favorite: This gesture signifies the potential for an intention to progress to greatest spiritual awakening. When done properly the palms are not flat against each other; the knuckles at the base of the fingers are bent a little, creating space between the palms and finger...s of the two hands resembling a flower yet to open, symbolizing the opening of our hearts. Anahata is the bridge where our inner and outer worlds converge. It’s energetic job is to help love unconditionally, both ourselves and others. Join me this coming Thursday, February. 11th via Zoom for a heart opening yoga practice. Gentle from 530 to 630 pm. Vinyasa flow from 7 to 8pm. $5 a class or 1/2 a space on your punchcard. Join me on your mats as we draw energy into our heart centre’s wrapping ourselves with love . #anahatachakra #energy#prana#lifeforce#chakras #yogapractice #meditation #healing#justbreathe #joy#gratitude #minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste See more

Thanku to all the beautiful souls who joined me this evening for a Zoom yoga class. Truthfully, I was so nervous. I feel so comfortable with all of you when we gather and practice in person. Teaching online does not come naturally. Next week I will feel more relaxed knowing the zoom class worked. It was so nice to see all your faces. This isolation is difficult for so many reasons. I miss people. I miss faces. I miss hugs. I’m looking forward to a day when this can all happen again. See you next week via Zoom. #zoomyoga #connection#gather#humanbeings#chakras#balance#asana#prana#pranayama#meditation #justbreathe#itsthelittlethings #minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste

Spending my weekend learning. Immersed in Yogafit level 3 teacher training. 20 hours of live zoom introspection. Delving further into yoga philosophy. For those of you that come to my yoga classes, you know this is what my yoga is all about. The philosophies of yoga learned on the mat, to live a better life off the mat. Learning more about the chakras and how these energy centres coexist inside our minds and bodies. Ideally I prefer the connection of in person classes, but what will be will be. Continuing on this journey of discovery . #yogafitfam#yogateachertraining #yogaphilosophy #pathwaystojoy #gratitude #love#yogateacher#minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste

I’m ready to zoom with you! This evening is a trial for me so I’m hoping it works! Excited to see everyone, even if it is virtually. In this evenings all levels class we will spend time working on our Sacral and Heart chakras. Happy hips, happy heart. Balancing these energy centres in our body will leave us feeling more open and loved. Our ability to process emotions will allow our hearts to receive and give love more readily . See you on your mats tonite. Please log in early to work out any kinks before class starts at 6! Guiding my intentions into the new year with my favourite yoga guides. Sometimes I like do just do my own thing on my mat, especially when creating sequences for classes. But I also made a commitment to myself back in September to start making time for my own yoga practice. I was going to classes as much as I could before the lockdown. Then I hopped all over the place with online classes. Ive been following @realtraviseliot and @laureneckstrom for some time now and found thei...r way of teaching and guiding fall into alignment with what I strive to accomplish in my life. I encourage everyone to check them out on YouTube. If you find yourself enjoying the classes, then check out @innerdimensiontv for some really great yoga programs and classes! I’ll see everyone on their mats again this Thursday for Zoom yoga! The only way to feel true joy and happiness in the heart and soul, is to have felt utter sadness and grief. All may not agree with this, but from my experience so far in life, it’s very true. Sometimes it’s not until things are taken away from us that we truly wake up and appreciate what we have or what we can do. I’m hoping with all my heart that what is happening right now will change human beings for the better. Instead of dwelling on all the negatives in the present momen...t, let’s really think about the positive that we can take into the future. Imagine how wonderful a Friday night of cards and games with friends will be. Imagine how nice it will be to safely gather with family for celebrations. Imagine that first live concert with 20, 000 people singing together will be. Imagine waking up and being excited to go to the gym, or a fitness class with others will be. Imagine seeing everyone’s faces again without masks on. Just gently close your eyes softly and imagine. Just imagine. Let’s let hope settle into our souls instead of darkness and anger and frustration. Let hope guide you into finding the everyday things in our lives to be more joyful. When the frustration and fear and anger start to take over, just gently close the eyes and imagine. Maybe some tears will trickle down your face, maybe you’ll be racked with sobs. That’s ok. Feel all the feelings. Then let hope be your guide. I have a permanent reminder of Hope tattooed on my arm. A poem by Emily Dickinson that carried me through a very scary time. It continues to carry me through all my days. Hope is the thing with feathers, That perches in the soul, And sings the tune, Without the words, And never stops at all. - Emily Dickinson #hopeoverfear #hopeisthethingwithfeathers #soul#humanbeings #justimagine #gratitude#love#letgo#surrender#yogaphilosophy #yamasandniyamas #justbreathe#meditation #peace#minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste See more

I’ve been very quiet here over the holidays. Lots of reflecting and just being happening here. I don’t make resolutions. For me personally resolutions come with big expectations that can end up in so much disappointment. Not the way I like to spend my time. So what I personally do on a daily basis is set an intention for the day. Sometimes the intention sticks , sometimes it doesn’t. But tomorrow is always a new day. I also love an idea that came from a friend. To have a them...e, maybe just a word. Lately my intention for the day has been to listen. Just listen. Maybe this will evolve into a theme for me this coming year. Intentions keep me in the present moment. Which I need help with. Remember first it is an intention, then a behaviour, then a practice, then it’s second nature, then it’s simply who you are. I wish nothing but the best for all my friends and family. This may have been a challenging year. But the one thing that’s for sure in life is change. And things will change. We will come through this with so much love and gratitude in our hearts. 14 years ago I spent almost a year in isolation with my family. All the while a little boys life on the brink. Now that year sucked. The worst ever. But we made it through because we had to. We had no choice. And things changed. So please take a deep breath. Gently close your eyes. And count your blessings. They are there if you look into your soul. From my heart to yours. A very happy new year. Namaste my friends See more

Last weeks Zoom class went well! It was so nice to connect with everyone again! I will continue to have Zoom classes over the next 3 Thursdays. Gentle from 5-6pm. Vinyasa flow from 630-730pm. Each class is $5, payable by etransfer or 1/2 a punch from your punchcards. Please have any props you have close by. Blocks, straps, pillows, blankets, if you like even a chair close by to hang on to! Sign in 10 minutes early to get set up. Right now more than ever the world could use a little yoga. We will work on activating our nervous systems to naturally decrease our heart rate and induce feelings of peace and tranquillity. Let’s Connect Move and Breathe together. See you on your mats . My heart is heavy. I will miss all of you during Manitoba’s code red restrictions. Human connection is integral to filling our souls. I pour my heart and soul into our yoga classes week after week and look forward to every class we have. Yoga teaching has been an unexpected soul filling experience for me. So much healing happens as I learn and teach. I will do my best to continue to connect with all of you. I’m not sure right now where my job is going to take me for the next ...while. If it’s possible I will try to get some live zoom classes out to you. A place where we can all still connect, breathe, move, and grow together. Stay safe and healthy my friends. Breath can have a profound effect on our minds and bodies, and while breathing is an essential element of life, it is something that is often overlooked as a to...ol for pain management. The practice of breathing is at the heart of yoga. Practicing breathwork on its own or synchronizing it with yoga postures is what allows people to achieve the mind-body connection that yogis strive for. See more

I’ve had to take a step back from my vigorous yoga practice and be gentle with myself. An acute low back issue has brought my very active life to a halt. Drawing from my lessons in yoga philosophy I’ve had to honour what my body is telling me. Practicing Ahimsa in my own yoga practice has been very humbling for me. Instead of pushing myself into places that are painful I’m listening to what my body is telling me and being gentle. Now I’m using my yoga practice to heal my body. My yoga practice has been healing my heart and soul and mind for years. Moving into code orange this week still allows us to go ahead with our yoga classes safely. I’ve already implemented all of the government restrictions for our classes. The only change will be 9 people in each class to allow for more physical distancing. I truly believe that by following the regulations we can stay safe and still have the ability to connect in our yoga classes. #yogaclass#connect#humanbeings #justbreathe #peace#gratitude#meditation #yogaphilosophy#minnedosavalleyyogacollective #yogawithtrish#namaste
