Throwback to the world premiere of The Anxious Dead with CapriCCio Vocal Ensemble and Michael Gormley on November 11, 2016. Thanks to the choir for this beautiful video of the performance!
Happy Halloween! What could possibly be scarier than ghouls and goblins tonight? If you guessed a piece for solo Bass Clarinet than you're 100% right! Presenting "I'm Sassy and I Know It" written for Jessica Rollins.
Just put the double barline on a new setting of the famous American folk tune "How Can I Keep From Singing" for Dr. Mark Sirett and the Cantabile Choirs of Kingston. Looking forward to the premiere in 2018!
Thrilled that the Windsor Classic Chorale will be presenting the Ontario premiere of "The Anxious Dead" on November 10 and 11 this year! Also on the program will be Mark Sirett's wonderful arrangement of "After the War". I've known Mark for a long time and it's he that encouraged me to write this piece and pursue choral composition. This promises to be a great concert!
Happy September Everyone! As a new year of musical activities begins I wanted to send a quick update on what I've been up to this summer and what to expect in the coming months. In choral news: I'm super excited to start singing with the Cantabile Choirs of Kingston tomorrow night and even more excited that they will be performing a new piece I've written for them later on in the 17/18 season!... In instrumental news: I'm thrilled to announce that I've accepted a commission for low Horn and Piano from Denise Tryon, Horn to be premiered in Spring 2018! Other cool projects on the go are a piece for solo Bass Clarinet and a Sonata for Tuba. Time to get writing!
Now's your chance to hear my "Missa Brevis" that was premiered at St. George's Cathedral Kingston on Easter Sunday. Thanks to Michael Capon, Graham Kennedy, Alicia Caroline, Shannon Armstrong, and Zoe Clarke for being such wonderful collaborators! This recording contains only the Sanctus, Benedictus, and Agnus Dei. The Kyrie has not yet been performed.
Did you miss the premiere of "Dreams of a Better Tomorrow" earlier this month? Fear not because the recording is now available on my Youtube and Soundcloud pages. Thanks to Amanda Hicks and Clare Gordon for playing so beautifully!
After two wonderful premieres this past week it's time to get back to writing! Stay tuned in the coming days for recordings of "Dreams of a Better Tomorrow" and "Missa Brevis".
