Have an intention to work out - but when it comes time, you are wearing the 'wrong' clothes and don't feel like changing? Instead of skipping it altogether, why not try "something". Jeans (with long underwear too!) might not be commonly mixed with rowing machines but it's possible and ensured I fulfilled my commitment of 2 mins of rowing everyday. Check it off baby!!

Doing push-ups in the kitchen is one of my everyday things that I've been doing "casually" for years, but never really commited to improving. This year I've decided I want to be able to do ten full pushups from the floor. I have been inspired by two people who have been working on their pushups this year: my dad @carle9999 and one of my coaching clients, Molly! I can currently do ten full pushups at counter height. I will continue my everyday pushups, but this time with a more goal oriented mindset and celebrate every time I can reduce the incline while maintaining excellent form. Does weeding have to be a nasty chore? A few 'all or something' sessions have me half done picking grass out of this drainage area below our deck. Instead of seeing it as a big job to tackle, I have picked away at it (sometimes a handful of plants after I hang the laundry, sometimes a big pile like this) slowly over the past week or so. I've enjoyed the opportunity to hinge, squat, practice weeding with my non dominant hand, and have my bare feet in this lovely grass. We move...d to this home near Princeton BC that was uninhabited for the last part of the summer, so there was quite a bit of weeding to do. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase of living in a new place, but puttering around this house and yard over the past couple weeks has felt fulfilling, and I know it's easy to maintain a well-built house and well-landscaped yard, I still know my "all or something" mindset is benefiting me ;) it's like a positive spin on half-assing a job. Half assing a job is better than no assing it. Haha. What can you half-ass today, that you might otherwise skip altogether?
