And I always do this kind of stuff in old homes. Water damage caused an unsightly and unwanted piece of modern art. In the coming weeks this kitchen will get a white ceiling and some fresh colours on the walls.

Yes I also paint kitchens. For much less than it costs to save them.

Yes, I also spray kitchen cabinets. This one for a friend who did the prep and masking; I promise not to paint your ceiling. have a dated kitchen? Ask me about giving it a hard wearing modern look.

I love when clients send me a before and after once my equipment has been removed and the garden tidied up a little. I really love when the transformations are as stunning as this. A special thanks to the Howards for hiring me. In a limited lifetime one has a limited number of projects one can achieve. Projects like this one really do feel worth the time and effort; I’m all about the small, daily contribution of beauty to our lives.... I’m not cheap, but I’m not expensive. I’m not fast but I’m not slow. I’m not large but I’m not small. How can we increase the beauty in your world?

Turns out I haven’t posted anything in a while. I’ve been busy. Took over a small gable from my Dad Harold The Home Doctor. Spent a few days in Toronto painting a friend’s place and their Airbnb basement apartment. And I’ve nearly completed another gable and porch header on Lorne Ave/ Life is good!

Thanks to all my clients who helped me get here!

What a busy and memorable week. Started with a great day out, second game of golf in this crazy year with my dear friend Peter Ramsay (if you need a real estate agent see Peter!) and a host of other friends from high school. Then it was back to finish an interior in St Thomas, started a door on Bruce Street in Old South, put up trim and touched up a site from a couple years ago (before its sold) and rounding out the week finishing trim for Lorne Ave. The answer to your question is no, there isn’t much I can’t do. Stay healthy, stay socially distanced and wear those masks!

Another fantastic day in Old East on Lorne Ave. More than halfway through my 3rd large project in the neighbourhood and hoping for more. Get in touch about restoring the glory of the exterior of your old home!

On this National Indigenous People’s Day; I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek (Ah-nish-in-a-bek), Haudenosaunee (Ho-den-no-show-nee), Lnaapéewak (Len-ahpay- wuk) and Attawandaron (Add-a-won-da-run) peoples, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum. This land continues to be home to diverse Indigenous peoples (e.g. First Nations, Métis and Inuit) whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society. Borrowed and adapted from UWOs Treaty recognition statement

Just finished a 14-day whole house turnaround. From garisly bright to calm and serene. New carpet and hardwood going down soon, and this lovely home near Colonel Talbot and Southdale will be up for sale.

After deciding to busy myself by painting our home (Colours are Metropolitan on walls, Oxford White on Trim, Overcoat on doors. The Blue is Gentleman’s Gray.) well of course everything was about to change and I would become busy again. Back to work for someone else today, starting a whole house repaint for a Property flip. Time to sharpen my brush! Before pictures to come. It’s bright!

Bam Son! Once in a while you stumble on a treasure trove of oil-based paint and while I still take issue with petrochemicals... the results when you know how to paint really set a job apart.

Well I gave up on the beard but my Blue Steel is coming along quite well. So is my imitation of Robert Downey Jr’s Osiris from Tropic Thunder but I won’t share that here. Slow times mean some time to freshen up our own home, and where possible finding outdoor work as the temperature increases and one is able to ingest more UV rays in accordance with Presidential medical advice. Still figuring out the right dilution ratio for household cleansers but I’ll keep you posted. I...n the meantime I am freshening up two entry ways to a gorgeous Heritage Home in a lovely part of Old South, as it waits to be listed for sale. Owners have moved out so it’s just me, scraping and soon repainting to add to the curb appeal and greet prospective buyers with a flawless entry. Have a wonderful Saturday, try and get out in the sun (see the above...) and stay well you beautiful people. Hope to see old and new clients again soon.

I’ve been spending my time constructively... by the end of this I’ll have a full patchy beard, a goatee straight from the pages of International Goatee and I’ll have mastered Blue Steel. Hope you are all keeping well. I am still working when and where possible (empty house in Thorndale, windows in the workshop) but mostly I’ve been social distancing. Outdoor season isn’t far away and once we can work hard again I’ll be working hard to catch up on lots of lost time. I do ask... for your patience; some customers projects had to wait up to a year before this whole change to our world. Unfortunately some may have to wait to 2021 but then your exterior will be good to 2036 so ... what’s the rush? Now back to working on my faces ...

Justin Peters Painting 02.07.2020

Well. Isn’t this an interesting time to be alive, single, and self-employed? In one sense, all pressure is lifted, in another, I still have a list of estimates out, and the outdoor season is gradually approaching us and a very real financial reason to keep working. I’m honestly struggling with how to operate during these times. My public policy background, and my work experience during the SARS crisis plus a concern about the future health of my father/business partner make m...e reluctant to leave the house. So I am putting things in the hands of my clients and while socially isolating for the majority of my time, I am available. If you’re home is young and healthy and you’re maintaining distances, we can still get some work done, if you’re willing. Harold and The Home Doctor Ltd are also still operational; he’s socially isolating himself in the workshop. Let us know about your design ideas.

5:03 am Wednesday February 27th. While I was praying quietly reciting the Lord’s Prayer, and listening to Closer Walk With Thee sung by Mahalia Jackson ... after a difficult struggle with dementia, and the physical pain and scars of Bowel Cancer, at the age of 77, our Mom, and wife Janet Peters has passed away, with her loving, loyal and dedicated husband and the best Dad anyone could ask for at her side. Mom joins her parents Theodore Charles Patrick Peter and Winifred Stubb...ings (nee Wren) and the many family cats she deeply loved. Thanks to everyone for all your support, prayers and love. Thank you to all my clients who’ve been so understanding as Dad, Adrian and I have cared for Mom. May she rest in eternal peace.

My latest project in St. Thomas. New home to a lovely young family and another word-of-mouth & personal referral. Had some great help from Jennika and Maggie and got all the dated colours covered and updated ready for move in. See the great review on my page from Alex!

No need to go to these (actually awesome) extremes. Just call or shoot me a message/text. I’ve just spent a great deal of time improving a ceiling (and my skills.) I can fix it. And paint it. Or just paint it.
