Artists are not ok right now. I know so many who are struggling and lost #Broadway is closed until 2021, #CirqueduSoleil has filed for bankruptcy, tours are cancelled, Festival season is cancelled, recording projects are on hold, cruise ship performers are out of work, theme park and holiday resort entertainers have no idea when they will be recalled, singing in public has pretty much been banned and live music performances are near on impossible with 2m social distancing... rules... Performing artists [DJs, singers, dancers] & performing organisations of all kinds... choirs, theaters, orchestras, concert promoters, events, hospitality and dance companies are all trying to figure out on a daily basis how to keep going and employ anyone they can in the field, respectively. If you know anyone in the arts, entertainment, event and creative industries, reach out to them and tell them they matter. They may not be considered essential Key Workers but their skills, contribution and service to society has helped you survive Lockdown (Music, Film, TV & Internet content). Get in touch with your creative friends, send them a virtual hug and make sure they are taken care of; support their projects, stream their music, share their posts, donate to arts organisations, sign petitions, support individual artists' virtual & live performances and don’t stop, the coming months and years are going to be just as hard - if you enjoy the arts in any way shape or form, it’s your responsibility to help keep the arts alive! #TheArtsMatter Our mental health, hearts and souls need it NOW more than ever ... *copy & paste please*
