"Slow and Steady Wins the Race" When working young horses and bringing in baby horses to train under saddle everyone has their methods that work for them. For our program it has always been slow and steady and many times we just "wait". Never rush and wait for the horse to feel 100% about a new situation or concept before moving on. You cannot train a horse that is fearful for he is no longer thinking just reacting. And so we wait. Wait for him to accept, wait for him to relax and wait for him to begin to learn. It may be slow in the beginning but these horses that you wait for will be horses of a lifetime.
