The lovely and beautiful @louyerxa in the teal bikini from our last post. Lou is a perfect inspirational post, as she is an incredible example of finding balance between living a healthy lifestyle while also hitting the stage. At our 2020 New Brunswick Championships, Lou took home 2nd place in both the Master's 45+ and 55+ Bikini categories. She inspires others of all ages and lifestyles to find their own fitness journey.

Client Spotlight! Wayne Doucette has been competing for 5 consecutive decades, a Canadian record! He has competed in Light Heavyweight, Heavyweight, Master's BB, Grand Master's BB, and Classic Physique Master's categories. Wayne recently retired at 58 years old, after prepping and competing during the pandemic, a contest prep we're sure was extra challenging. Wayne has also been judging for years with @jandh_promotions and the @canadianph...ysiquealliance. He will continue to be involved with judging after retiring from the stage. Brainstorming rhinestone ideas.

Sometimes the fabric deserves all the attention. If you are on a tighter budget, don't be afraid to get a plain custom suit. It's more important to have the right fit and a great colour than to have lots of rhinestones. Select a fabric that has a vibrant hue, maybe even some flecks of other shades within it. Focus on complimenting your hair and eye colour. And don't forget! We can always add additional rhinestones to your suit for a future show.

We just completed a similar rhinestone design for an amazing upcoming Women's Physique suit. It will feature the crystal stones in the central areas, fading out into successively darker colours. But instead of the popular fading down effect, it will fade outwards on either side from the brightest central area. Can't wait to show you how it turned out! But not until it has been on stage. ... Moving back to orange phase tonight! Excited to be going in the right direction again and sending positive vibes to those zones still struggling.

What can I say about 2020 that hasn't already been said? We all had our goals and ambitions for the past year, many that will now be focused on in 2021. It's the perfect time to assess those old goals, pivot if necessary and do what your heart tells you. We aren't through this pandemic yet, so being flexible and patient is the name of the game. As we kick off this new year, I wanted to thank every client and customer who supported JW Cou...ture in 2020. Small business has never needed their communities like they do now. The best kind of Monday Blues!

Many won't be celebrating their usual holiday season, which will be difficult after such an unpredictable and challenging year. We are thinking of you all and despite the unusual season, wish you the brightest and happiest of holidays.

We care about our bodies, we care about our food. Only makes sense to also care about the environment. We've been working to develop more environmentally friendly packaging. Particularly with the shipping packaging itself, it's difficult to avoid the use of plastic materials when mailing goods, like poly mailer envelopes and tape. So we've slowly been transitioning to paper envelopes and wrap. Most exciting is the new custom paper tape! Activated by water, this gummed tape can be recycled and is biodegradable. It's not about being perfect, it's about making an effort and making changes where possible. Inspire us all, tell us the steps you are also taking!

Love the multi-coloured special fx stones on this suit. From some angles they look solid blue, but as you move them around the colours will change. So the shades of blue, purple, fuchsia and yellow are all actually the same rhinestones. Integrating these types of stones is a great way to add extra dimension to your suit.

Client Spotlight! Prepping for a competition is always challenging, but prepping during a pandemic is extra difficult. Despite the additional challenges this year, Beth White hit the stage recently at the NB Natural and Open Championships. A beautiful emerald green material covered in complimentary green and blue hued rhinestones. Such a lovely overall look that maintains the tones of the fabric. When you have a fantastic coloured fabric that will look great on you, it's better to maintain or enhance those colours than completely covering the suit in crystal stones. Too many crystal stones will wash out the fabric, making it less impactful on stage.
