I promised myself that there was ONE project I was going to tackle during quarantine. #molddesign and #slipcasting . I’ve been dreaming about this for years! So I finally put the dream into action. I poured the mold last evening so even though it’s solid - it’s still hardening. You can tel by how cold it feels to the touch! I am beyond excited to see how the actual object and plaster mold looks once I peel off the supporting clay. ... It took me a few weeks to source the right oil based clay, plaster and modelling tools for shaping two part molds. The rest of the materials I managed to scrounge up from home. Cant wait to see how the first half of the mold turns out! #moldmaking #plastermold #canadianceramics

Plaster Cactus this pice makes me giggle because it looks like something I made in elementary school. But it’s waaayyyy more recent than that . It sits happy in the window sill and reminds me that sculpture is not my forte. #keepingmydayjob #clay #polymerclay

Given the times it almost seems strange to have travel souvenirs. But this little gem of a espresso mug is from the Alfama district of Lisbon, Portugal. I try to pick up something from a local artist on each of my trips abroad. One of my earliest works paired with some dried baby’s breath. I’ve been in this apartment for the last 4 years but I’m always finding ways to tie in new pieces or make it feel more like home. I avoided putting this piece out on display for the longest time because it’s quite off centred and it’s certainly heavier than it needs to be.
