Position Title: Operations Assistant, full time 37.5 hours/week Purpose: The Operations Assistant is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, property rental and HR duties, assists with completing payroll and proactively assists management with quality improvement initiatives and projects. Key Responsibilities:... Financial: Day to day bookkeeping, prepares cheques, direct deposits, online payments, assists with financial reporting, invoicing and payroll; Participate in organizational planning and business process improvement Human Resources: Orientation of new staff, plans yearly education for staff, ensures employee information and files are kept up to date; Assist Supervisors in developing return to work plans Property Management: Maintain waitlists, accept applications, and complete process to bring in new tenants; Calculate and process rent notices and other payments; Assist Executive Director and Property Manager to address tenant concerns Administrative: Must be available several times a year for community outreach activities; Supports fundraising efforts and participate as team member in any fundraising event Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent (Accounting Designation preferred); Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial setting; Experience in developing and monitoring budgets; Excellent computer skills and experience with Quickbooks or similar software; Experience in HR, including providing orientation, return to work processes, and WSIB; Demonstrate ability to work independently, multitask and shift priorities as needed; Strong oral and written communication skills, detail oriented and consistently accurate; Experience working in a healthcare field, non-profit sector, or with seniors an asset; Bilingualism is an asset; Successful applicants will ensure clients are cared for in a safe environment. Christine works tirelessly for our Housing units, overseeing operations in the office and most importantly looks after the money! She’s our numbers gal! Christine is hard working, commited, organized and has an incredible sense of humour! She’s supportive..., a good listener, and is always willing to step up and help in any situation. We are continuing our employee recognition series! This is Taryn! Taryn is the Assistant to our Operations manager, amongst dabbling in many other things! When asked Taryn often says I do a bit of everything! She’s been working at the Villa for almost 7 years and assists with invoicing and payroll! Goodness knows, payroll is important to all our staff!!! Taryn has helped in a big way for our annual golf tournaments, wellness days, trade shows & paint nights to name a few. Team Tuesday! Today’s shoutout goes to this awesome girl, Sydney! Sydney has been with us for over four years and runs our Adult Day Program on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Sydney works with some of our highest risk seniors and adults with disabilities. She has an incredible way of making all of her clients feel safe and special. Sydney provides a safe, social, stimulating and fun time for her clients each week! She’s got more costumes, decorations and props than you could ...shake a stick at! She can create fun in a matter of minutes! Our clients are so lucky to have such a caring, dedicated and hard working leader for our Adult Day programs. Not only does Sydney lead our Adult Day but is the voice on the other end of the phone for our Transportation program. Sydney books hundreds of rides a year for clients to medical appointments. She can often be found with her clip board keeping track of all of the rides and volunteers. She’s really organized, meticulous and quite tech savvy! If she picks up the phone when you call the centre or you see her around, be sure to say hello and thank her for all she’s doing! We are so fortunate to have Sydney! Keep up the good work!!!

It's Team Thursday and in keeping with appreciating our wonderful staff, this is Kaitlyn! Kaitlyn started with us a year and a half ago working at the front desk and as you can see in her picture, she has an incredibly warm and welcoming smile! Kaitlyn moved into a scheduling position and is now our Staff Scheduler extraordinaire! Kaitlyn is beyond dedicated to her job, organized, attentive, caring & has a way of making sure all of our Seniors are cared for. Kaitlyn is the t...ype of worker who is 15 minutes early for her work day and goes above and beyond every day to keep the staff organized. Kaitlyn's role is one of great importance and creates peace of mind for those running programs. She plays a huge role in our team and without her we wouldn't be able to run as smoothly as we do! We've been busy recognizing all of our wonderful staff and today is the day we recognize, Debra! Debra is our Assistant Property Manager. Debra works hard at every job she does. She's a jack of all trades, master of many! She's has an incredible green thumb and eye for beautifying our grass, flower beds and properties. She has spent countless hours keeping our properties attractive & well maintained. Her skills don't stop there, you should see her with a paint brush!!!! If it's not moving, she's painting it! She's easy going, diplomatic, great with our tenants and has a wonderful sense of humour! Debra came to us almost a year ago and fits like a glove! We are so glad she's joined our team. This is Mahlon Locke. Mahlon has been volunteering for us for the past 7 years, as a Meals on Wheels driver and drives for our Transportation services as well. Mahlon says he loves to help and likes to remain active and do his part in our community. He has been delivering Meals on Wheels during this pandemic ensuring seniors’ get a nutritious meal and a security check. Mahlon is always willing to help. His understanding, compassion and caring for our clients makes him an invaluable volunteer. The staff and clients love his quick wit and humour. Heather has been busy over these last few months making sure to take all the extra steps and precautions to keep our Villa and offices safe and clean. Heather has always been happy to help with any extras and does it with a smile! She is happy, caring, positive, energetic and does an incredible job! Many have said that Heather makes their day when they see her each morni...ng! Our organization is lucky to have such a wonderful, proactive, hard working housekeeper who makes health & safety her number one priority. Feel Good Friday goes to Ineke! Ineke has worked as a PSW with us for 11 years! She works primarily in our Adult Day Program and has become a face those clients look for each week. She’s full of life, energetic, compassionate, caring, friendly & dedicated to her clients and our organization. Ineke has a soft, kind heart that our most vulnerable clients need and appreciate. Her warm, caring spirit is an asset to our program. Ineke has also been delivering Meals on Wheels over the last few months religiously during this pandemic. As you can see, we've had a lot going on lately but we are back today shouting out our amazing staff! This here is Rosie! This is the smile that meets you at our front desk! Rosie is a Nursing student but has been working at our front desk over the last six weeks as 'air traffic control' while our office is closed to the public. Rosie was with us last summer as well and is a wonderful addition to our team! She's answering all phone calls, organizing all of the Meals on Wheels... routes and the volunteers who deliver them, she's dealing with client payments, all paperwork at the office while the rest of the office is working from home, she's screening all of those who must come into the centre, as well as ensuring their hands are being washed as they come in as well as many many other things. Rosie is one of those that is two steps ahead of most and is always smiling. She's the perfect person to greet all guests as she's bubbly, warm, helpful, organized, flexible, dependable, reliable & always willing to help without being asked. Rosie has also been working as a PSW for us when she can! I know! How incredible is that?! Rosie has jumped into these roles for us willingly and is helping keep us afloat in many areas!
