Gusztav the Water Rescue Dog

This is what I look like when my handler makes me listen to Billy Idol in the car. Today out on the lake, all in a days work.

On this day 2 years ago, our life changed completely. Thank you buddy for all you have given us. While you may not realize everything you have accomplished so f...ar, I will always remember when you jumped from the dock into the water after a little girl who was in trouble. When you refused to stop alerting on a paddle boarder who was overcome when she tipped her board and couldn't get back on, and when you retrieved a 9 year old kayakers paddle and took it back to him. To you this was play, and pleasing your handler. To me it is our purpose: to help save lives in, on and near the water. Over the past 2 years I owe so much to so many who have been a part of our lives. To Adri, for putting up with us for the past 730 days. Thank you to Tanya Strom and Knight who introduced me to the Portuguese Water Dog breed and have helped me so much, to the best West Jet team in Canada - folks from the Regina Base - by getting me to YYZ and back home with K9 Gusztav, YQR - Regina International Airport, to Melissa Hunchak for keeping Gusztav healthy, to Cowtown Canada who are the main sponsors to us and to everyone that has been a part of these past 2 years. Well it's official I am 2 years old. Also a shout out to Hank (he's also a Portuguese Water Dog - my buddy) who was busy at puppy class so he wasn't at the party, and my sister Luna - it's also here birthday, and we haven't seen each other in 2 years (I saved you some cake). Today was a P-awesome Day, Wooof! My handler - John took me out for some training, and in between I got to meet Hank. Hank by the way is also a Portuguese Water Dog and is about 24 weeks old (just a kid - I turn 2 years old in a few weeks - just sayin).
