LAST CHANCE! There are a handful of tickets left to be sold for the Ruffland Kennel raffle, the proceeds of the raffle have gone towards covering Frankie'...s extensive vet bills from earlier in March. It would be amazing to sell all 100 tickets, but we will do the draw regardless on MAY 1ST 2021. (Please note Item IS ordered but has not arrived in Canada so the winner will have to be patient) Details below for raffle information Thanks for those who have participated, Frankie is doing well, and is wishing everyone the best of luck on the draw date! I didn't share much of what was going on at the time as it was pretty traumatic. Frank and I have been through a lot together in our almost 12 years, his tenacity to get into the worst possible situations and pull through virtually unscathed is remarkable. Essentially, at the end of several days on IV fluid, troubleshooting the IV pump, doing blood work, xrays, and sheding many tears regarding whether or not to keep trying and spending more and more money, it was discovered through exploratory surgery that Frankie had an obstruction of hair in his lower intestines. Best, worst case scenario, it was easy to remove, there was minimal damage to his intestines and we now had the answers to everything. He has had a slow but steady recovery with only a few bumps in the road. So here is hoping we don't need to do anymore fundraising for frank for the next 12 years! - - - - - Roughland kennel raffle! Intermediate two door (front and side) Tickets $30 each (unlimited buys) Only 100 tickets available! To enter send etransfer to [email protected] You MUST put your name and contact info in the notes! (Winner is responsible for arranging pick up with me or paying shipping from Barrie if needed)

Another small achievement to help motivate us! Funny, we got this in the mail yesterday and it was coincidentally our first night teaching a new round of trick classes again with @redbarneventcentre cant wait to see what inspires our students this round! This has been a very strange year, admittedly I have trained virtually no tricks with my dogs, which often gets me down when I think about how much I love training them. But on the upside, my personal pack of dogs has grow...n, and developed into something I never imagined, and we have gotten to learn some very challenging things, things new to me, things that give us different opportunities, did I say things that challenge me lol, and hopefully, make me a better trainer in the long run. My personal goal as an instructor, has always been to inspire people to play with their dogs and enjoy interacting with them. My personal goal as a trainer is to always have my dog LOVE the behavior I'm training, and to be able to train it force free. My personal goal as a handler is to learn as much as I can from as many people and dogs as possible and to find a way to use that information to create tailored programs and methods for every dog (or animal) I get to work with.
