I have 2 or 3 families upset that we are charging 35 percent. In our handbook for unforeseen circumstances I can charge full price. Everyone signed a handbook. I was trying to be sensitive to people’s situations and told parents if government paid wages we wouldn’t charge however they are not. So I came up with a percentage that would still pay my over head without losing too much money. After all this is a business. Most centers are charging parents full price as they are going to continue to pay staff. If you have an issue please contact me.

Now the government made it official we are closed until farther notice. Parents will be required to pay there 35 percent of there weekly rate as I didn’t hear the PM say they were going to cover loss of wages for parents having to stay home. This will help the business pay our over head cost. If we are closed for more then two weeks we will reassess at that time

Any essential workers can go to the government website as there is a form for you to fill out if you need care. There will only be a few across the province from what I understand. The government is compelling the list of people in need.

I would like to say a big thank you to parents that have reached out knowing that we are in a difficult position and even offering to keep their children to lessen our numbers. Anyone that chooses to keep there child home will be required to pay the 35 percent holding fee for vacation time (2 weeks per year). At this time we are following the current policies in place and the direction of Public Health. If you have any questions please call 773-5437 from 9-3. Thank you

School across the province are officially closed for two weeks. We will remain open however if your child is experiencing a high fever, cough or any trouble breathing we will be excluding for 48 hours and asking you to have your child assessed if the fever doesn’t break or cough doesn’t subside. We want to remind everyone entering our facilities to sanitize or wash yours and your child’s hands. Our current policy which has been given to all parents will stay in place however we are asking that anyone that has travelled outside of NB to any hot spots in Canada to please stay away from our facilities for 14 days along with your child if you plan on having contact with them upon your return. If you have any questions please call me at 773-5437 as it is difficult/time consuming to answer questions through messages Thank you

I see lots of posts of families being bored and not knowing what to do all day with their kids at home. I started to go back to the basic with my own two kids. Here are some simple ideas: Play card games, play a game of scavenger hunt example find something that starts with the letter A, play the colour game example put your nose on something blue, paint, colour, hop scotch inside or out, tic tack toe, baking, make slime, make goop (cornstarch and water), play dough, puzzles ...etc. I know it’s a stressful time for some families and it’s hard on the kids not knowing why they can’t visit their friends and families so try FaceTime or send letters through the mail. I found two good books to help my kids express and explain their worries especially durning this difficult time The Very Hungry Worry Monster and Worries Are Not Forever. Most importantly remember to take time for yourself. See more

I copied this from the educator united page *** Parents we all understand this is a difficult time. Some daycares have already announced plans for payments (not required, required, half)... Some of these daycares laid their staff off immediately. Others are hoping to be able to pay staff. The only information we have at current is that parents who received subsidize daycare spaces - that subsidy will continue to be paid. Some daycares have many clients on subsidy so that will help them stay affloat while staff are laid off. Other centers have much lower rate of subsidized spaces. And still others such as in home daycares and do not get ANY EI. As Directors and Owners we are trying desperately to get information from the government as to what the plans are for helping families get relief during this trying time while making sure you have a daycare to come back to when this settles. Please be patient with your childcare providers. I’ve heard of verbal harassment, negative online reviews and so much more. Heck, scrolling through any post that mentions daycare is heartbreaking to read how little compassion and understanding some people have. Please remember at the end of the day we are human. We have families to worry about. And we are doing the best we can to get you the answers you want in a system that historical has undervalued US AS EDUCATORS and our importance to families.
