This intimate Calgary elopement ceremony ended up being the coldest day to get married and have photos taken outside, but this couple made the day so relaxing and fun. We took photos at their favourite park they spend a lot of time at and captured their love story.

Black History Month is a time where we try to reckon with, understand, and celebrate the experiences of Black Lives and how they have shaped a great deal of the public’s consciousness. However, society has been collectively recycling the same stories on Black history for decades. We have come together as a community to educate ourselves. My family has chose Florence Mills to learn about. Here is what I learned: Florence Mills, Harlem’s little blackbird, was born in 1896 and w...as taught to sing the songs from her mother that carried her family through slavery. Florence’s voice was never recorded, and no films of her performances exist, but we know she was great from the reactions of her peers. She was the first black woman to ever be photographed for a full spread in Vanity Fair. It wasn’t only her talent that made her great. She used her fame and fortune to help others including other black artists. Our baby boy is two today! I love when he kisses me he says mmm-ah and grunts when he gives me a big bear hug. I love his fierceness, even though somedays he takes all the patience in the world, I wouldn’t change his wild spirit for anything. I love how much he loves dogs, dinosaurs, and his big sisters. This past month he’s moved into a big boy bed, is learning new words everyday, and growing into such a sweet handsome little man. We love him so darn much. Happiest of birthdays to our Huck today

The last day of 2020 is here at last. Thinking about everything that has happened this year, all of the years events, is pretty insane. Personally, this year is ending a lot better than it started. Last winter, because of COVID, the program I work in shut down, and I was reassigned to a job I was absolutely miserable in and stuck it out for way too long, our childcare & my friendships were at places I wasn’t fulfilled with, and life just felt heavy. I believe when you let th...ings in your life go, sometimes it creates just enough space for things you need to enter and for me, this year, that happened. I spent more time with my little sister this year then years before, as she moved across Canada to care for our kids. We have been blessed beyond belief to have Ellie, our Au pair from England, with us since September and she is, well there really aren’t enough words, but just I love her so much. I have grown closer to friends this year & made new ones that feel like my people (something I’ve lacked since moving from Alberta from the East coast), and life is just good right now. I hope 2021 brings me joy in my photography, peace and fun in my friendships, fulfillment in my counselling career, grace & so much love in my marriage and parenting, and I hope I continue to try to be kinder each day then the day before, stay healthy, keep fit, and have fun. I hope that for you too. I hope everyone’s Christmas was merry spent with the people who matter the most

On November 21st our Annabel Leigh turned four. We celebrated, as per her request with only family, pizza, and endless baby dolls. Annie is an old soul, a giver, kind and patient, and has a head full of curls. Every night when I put her to bed I can’t help, but pray deeply that she will have the most beautiful life because she truly is such a soft beautiful soul.
