As things currently stand, massage therapy is OPEN for business. As always there are protocols in place. Before arriving you will be asked to fill out a COVID screening questionnaire, masks are mandatory while inside the clinic, and thorough disinfection of all surfaces between clients is standard. Hoping everyone does what they require to take care of themselves during this tough time.

What is cupping? Cupping, also known as myofascial cupping, is a technique applied using either, plastic, silicone, or glass cups to an area of the body. The history of cupping goes back hundreds of years, used in traditional medicine practices in Asian and European civilizations. Benefits from cupping are noted as a reduction in pain, increased range of motion in a joint, increased localized blood flow, and a reduction in creatine kinase (linked to improved muscle reco...very for athletes). Rather than a typical massage where the technique is being applied with pressure into the muscle, cupping is decompressing and can have the ability to stretch fascia and other connective tissues that may adhere to muscles due to various reasons. The most common side effects of cupping include circular bruises at the site of treatment. There are different techniques with cupping that can be used to reduce the likelihood of dark bruising. If bruising is a concern to my clients, I monitor the cups very closely during treatment and if I notice colouring changes I will adjust the pressure inside the cup or switch to a different technique. If you are currently taking any medications that thin the blood, or a pain medication such as aspirin or naproxen, I may not suggest cupping because the bruising may be more significant. See more

YES! To ensure my ability to treat my patients with uninterrupted care, it’s important for both you and I, to wear a mask while inside my home. I understand laying face down can increase the difficulty to breathe with a mask, I will have options for you to make this a more comfortable experience. ... If you don’t have a mask available, I have one I can provide for you.

The best form of a compliment is a great referral, I’ve recently added my business to the google page. I would appreciate it if my clients could spare a few seconds of their time writing a review of my services! Hope everyone had a great weekend! https://g.page/r/CcHUYkH6-m78EAE/review

For those of you who haven’t tapped into your benefits as usual this year due to COVID-19 shutting things down, it’s becoming that time of year where time is running out to use them before they renew!
