We have some provincial guidelines that tell us to stay home and in our close bubbles through the holiday season to keep us and those around us safe from Covid 19. Family movie nights may be a good activity to plan with the family. Let's share some ideas for some good family movies to suggest checking out!

Act of Kindness tip: While we are actively trying to show kindness to others, let's also remember to find ways to be kind to ourselves. Why not make a birthday card for yourself and ask someone to mail it to you close to your birthday?

Self Care Tip: Healthy ways to deal with anger: (And please share your tips too!) - Throw rocks into the river and let go of the heaviness the anger is causing. - Have a Higher Power Box. Have a container which you can leave notes or letters of things you are angry about or having trouble letting go of. - Draw. Draw what the anger looks like... - Yell or scream into a pillow - Stomp. Write the situation you're angry with on the bottom of your shoe and stomp on it - Clay. Use modeling clay to illustrate the anger or squeeze the clay to release the anger - Physical exercise. Take 15-30 minutes of quiet time - Anger letter. You don't have to mail the letter. If you have a counsellor, you can bring the letter to your session to discuss feelings that surfaced. - Disconnect from your triggers - Watch a funny movie - Do something relaxing See more

We have people in our lives that mentor and serve as role models as to how we would like to be as parents. I know I am so thankful for the role models in my life that have guided me and that I can turn to for advice. Thankfully, we have people that have been through some of the challenges that we go through as parents and they can offer us some wise suggestions and guidance. What's the best advice you've been given about parenting lately?
