In this world we are talking a lot about compassion, love, and environmental change but the only changes that you can bring is by understanding your own greedin...ess. Understanding greediness means understanding your selfishness. Please realize the difference between self-care and selfishness. The difference can be brought only by stability in mind. Stability in mind can be brought only when you let go of your self-righteousness. To let go of your self-righteousness accept change. love and care from your kalu rimpoche See more

Q1: What is the meaning of chanting sutra and mantra? Ans: There is lots of beneficial on chanting sutra and mantra from the religious perspective. We must onc...e heard that chanting one mantra or even heard the mantra once can lead you the way out from the samsara or never go back to the six realms. This is definitely not the truth meaning of chanting mantra though it do have some beneficial. However, some people do need this kind of unrealistic motivation, so one day they will know the truth meaning of the dharma. There are 2 levels of mantra realization. The first realization is that we will tell ourselves that we have to chant and we must chant, so that we can benefit all the sentient beings. That is truth and good for doing it when we have no experience on practicing. However, the real purpose of chanting mantra is to recognize our own distraction. When we are practicing, our body is in meditation posture, our mind is focusing on visualization and our speech is chanting mantra. This will lead our body, speech and mind in fully clam and relax status. We can then get the clarity in visualization but not just visualize it. Love and care from your Kalu rimpoche

Dear friends I finished my schedule in Europe and I just started one-month long program at Palden Shangpa Korea. Sangha members and I are super happy and harmo...nized as one team. We are planning to start another center in downtown Seoul called Palden Shangpa Seoul, which will be the center for everyday practice, meditation and spiritual conselling, while Palden Shangpa Korea dharma center remains as weekend retreat center for a long term practices in the beautiful mountain settings. I am happy to appoint Lama Samdrup and Lama Tashi as lama in residence for both Palden Shangpa Korea and Seoul centers. They both finished traditional Shangpa retreat at Jamgon Kontrul Rinpoche's monastery and are very capable of delivering the essence of the Dharma and they have my permission to give empowerments and personal guidance to Korean people. How can we deal with our negative emotion when we face the tragic moment or the natural disaster? What can we do in the aftermath? My dear friends all over the... world, As a dharma practitioner and a dharma teacher, from a teacher’s perspective, I think at this kind of situation, at this tragic moment, it is important for us not to talk about anything about or related to the karma or cause and effect. Instead, what we can do is to bring the trust and the wisdom in the humanity by our compassion. In the meantime, we should start doing our spiritual dharma practice. To begin our spiritual dharma practice, we need to be practical and reality. So it can bring a better future for the humanity. Even though I am a Buddhist practitioner, I only believe in good karma and good habit in life. Because when you believe in good, positive impact for the society and the people, and believing in something greater and better, rather than being selfishness and lack of wisdom. Naturally you will bring the peace and harmony. As a dharma practitioner, I always push on with the dharma practice with the people by believing only in good karma, good habit, and the positivity and without any negative habit. Energy will dissolve naturally not just into yourself but also in our society and in the humanity. Practicing dharma means being practical. Benefiting all the sentient beings means bringing something better for the society and to the humanity. That is the main purpose of us for being as a human being. We called ourselves a human being as we have kindness, compassion, intelligent, wisdom and spiritual practice. We must use all these positive qualities in our humanity to make a better future. We must all believe in positivity and in good karma. We must follow and believe in that, and the negative karma will dissolve at the same time. We might have different religion, different system, different government, different cultural or different tradition, but one thing we must stand together is the humanity. We all live in this small world, we must all cherish globally with all our heart. As a teacher, I always tell my lamas at Shangpa centers all around the world that being a lama, rinpoche, tulku or practitioner will never make us higher than anyone else. We are all equal and the same as all other people; so that we can all connect to them with our honestly, respect and with our dharma practice with generosity. If you have any kind of dharma practice questions and need some answers, I will always be here for you. Besides, all the lamas from the shangpa centre around the world will also be happy to serve you and support you humbly and with our love, care and respect, after all you are all a part of our family. With lots of love and care from your Kalu rimpoche

Dear my friends all around the world. Hundreds of people have been injured and a number of people killed after a series of devastating blasts sent a fireball h...undreds of metres into the air at an industrial port in Tianjin, China. May the victims find strength in the blessing of all sacred beings and in the warm embrace of their loved ones. I am respectfully asking all of my friends out there, Buddhists or non-Buddhists, to send our sincere prayers to the victims that we share their sufferings. For all Palden Shangpa centers around the world, I urge you to do special prayers for the casualties and victims who are still suffering from the fear of death at this very moment. And for all our students and practitioners in mainland China, words cannot mend your suffering; but those who care and share your loss with you comfort and peace of mind. We all support you and love you from the bottom of our hearts. With deepest and heartfelt sympathy, Kalu Rimpoche See more
