When did you start loving someone else more than you love yourself? When did we start caring more about how we look over how big our heart is? When did we decide that we aren’t good enough for our dreams? When did we start looking in the mirror and first thing we see is a flaw? When did we start hating the imperfections that make us unique, or even thinking of... Them as imperfections? Who told you stretch marks were flaws and to cover them up? Who told you you had to look a certain way to fit in? When did someone’s opinion of you mean more to you than your own? Your limiting beliefs and insecurities you have are most likely caused by an external influence. Whether it be something someone said or how society thinks you should be. Maybe you compare yourself to people on social media, or that one comment someone said to you when you were younger has stuck with you your entire life. I don’t think we realize the impact we have on one another. How our NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE words can stick with someone for the rest of their lives. How we leave people feeling at the end of an interaction truly does matter. Because they go on and reflect those feelings back to the rest of the world. How we treat people does matter. Your words are powerful. They can do so much good. You have no idea how the slightest compliment to someone can turn their day around. Or how a hurtful remark can be engrained in them forever. Leaving them doubting themselves or feeling ashamed of who they are. I want this campaign to have a positive impact. I want women to take their power back. I want them to be proud of who The hell the are. To stop apologizing to everyone around them for being themselves. I wish we were all unapologetically ourselves. And love ourselves the way we love other people. Confidence is such a beautiful thing and I hope this has a trickling effect to everyone that follows along on this journey. Home My definition of what a home looks and feels like changed drastically once I had Banx. Before I was a mom, I wanted my dream home, and I had it. I had my dream home at 24. But you know what if your dreams consist of material things, when you get them you are never fully satisfied because you will always want more. Don’t get me wrong I appreciated them very much. But I never got to slow down and fully enjoy them. I was focused on what I could accomplish next. Once B came ...my focus changed completely. Instead of finding joy in things I find joy in moments. In the tinniest of moments that I would have never realized lit a spark inside of me, but now those tiny moments take my breath away, literally. My dream home is gone, but I found a home within myself, within people that fill my heart with so much love. Prior to becoming a Mom I wasn’t living a present fulfilled life. I was always looking to the future. I never once watched the sunset or the sunrise, I never sat in the quite and had a cup of coffee and took in the beauty of that house. Now fast forward to 29 year old me, living in my moms house with my little boy. And I have never ever felt more at home. I stop mid sentence all the time scoop banx up and look at the sunset or sunrise. I come home and I feel at peace. Let me tell you 24 year old me would have been getting out of my moms home as fast as I could, because I cared what people thought of me ALOT, now I have ZERO shame. I am enjoying this stage in my life. Where B gets to wake up and see his Gramma and build a beautiful bond. Now I do look to the future and picture a future home but it looks different. I don’t envision exactly what it looks like but more how the home feels. A place that I can walk into and feel welcome, feel like I belong. Where I can take a breather when my heart feels heavy. I know that that time will come where that feeling will be my own home. In perfect timing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having dreams. Or wanting nice things. But I hope that the moments are what matter most. Treasure them in your heart. Those moments will last a lifetime. I have learned so much about what brings me joy. And I’m still learning. But one thing is for certain any house can feel like home when you fill it with love.
