My heart feels sad to post this, but we are in this together friends. We can, and we will get through this. Yesterday, it was announced from Dr. Hinshaw that ...for the upcoming summer months, only gatherings of 15 or less are allowed, with social distancing. With that said, there is so much around us being canceled, or rescheduled. With that, comes grief. I know for myself, as I am sure, all of you, are heartbroken on the loss of events you looked forward to. There is so much disappointment and loss. Know that it is okay to grieve all that goes with that. These are big losses. This year, our Mother's day event, and fundraiser is postponed. My heart isn't quite ready to cancel it, and I have hopes that we can still continue this celebration, in the right time. Our theme is flourish, and is quite fitting for the times we are in. May we take this time, for ourselves. Grieve if we need. Reach out for support. Encourage one another. Love. We are community.

It’s World Doula Week! This week has been hard for everyone I think. Each day I’ve wanted to post something, but struggled so much with what to even say. I decided I would share a picture of one of my Doula babies on his first birthday a while back (posted with parents permission, of course!). My heart hurts for everyone who is pregnant right now, and who has due dates soon as everything is so uncertain. I know that what you have planned for has probably changed. It’s okay to be scared right now, but I also want you to know that you are stronger than you think. My heart goes out to you There are so many doulas in this area that are willing to help you out however they can right now. Feel free to message or reach out in any way if you need support right now. Happy 1st Birthday to my first doula babies! I was so honoured to be a part of this birth for my friends. After this day, I knew I had found my passion. Leading up to the birth I was nervous and excited as I had not been to a birth before. I loved being able to support our friends during this emotional and physical day. I met them at 7:00am and left the hospital at 10:30pm. It was a long day of work, but didn’t feel like normal work. I loved every minute of it! The reason I love being a doula, is to see a family being born. Since this day I have loved seeing the adorable rambunctious boys the twins are becoming! I definitely feel like I have one of the best jobs Happy Birthday (Posted with clients permission) #birthdoula #birthsupport

Happy International Women's Day What better way to celebrate then to announce our annual Celebration of Women, a fundraising event for Healing Hearts that honors and celebrates all mothers and mothers alike. Save the evening date- we are up to something new this year

I figure it’s time for an introduction! I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula worming in Central Alberta. I love supporting a mom as she is going through such an immense time, and doing all that I can to ensure she feels loved, supported and empowered. I love working with partners to show them how they can be their for their partner during childbirth, so that they feel empowered as well! Chelsea Bootsman Doula.Photo.Film

I just wanted to post as I have been talking with a lot of my friends lately and so far no one has known that you can go on EI sickness benefits (or potentially disability benefits) after a miscarriage. If you are going through one and need some additional time for physical and mental healing this may be helpful. Take care #miscarriageawareness #miscarriagesupport

A little silver lining throughout the last few hard months. When Covid first started here and everything was shutting down, I bunkered down and decided to finalize and submit my paperwork for my certification. I opened my mail and finally received my certificate and badge! Well I am finally Certified through DONA International!! I am so excited for what the future holds
