The KING table With an additional 10 inches, the extra width provides more room for your guests and tabletop decor. This size is a perfect option if you’re planning to elope and host an intimate celebration with your expanded social circle. It allows you to have all the fun involved in designing a wedding reception, but ultimately your budget will stretch a lot farther Have fun with your linen (like this bold pattern inspired by the bride’s trips to Kenya), splurge on t...he glass charger plates you love, and make a statement with a floral centrepiece or 3 The world is your oyster! It’s important to note that due to the extra room, you will want a linen that measures 108X156 to have a seamless look. Alternatively, you can overlap two 90X156 linens and add a runner down the middle to hide the seam - no one will notice and the additional layers increase the luxe factor! #kaitlynellisevents #kefloristry #bride #engaged #reception #wedding #ylw #kelowna #okanaganelopement #okanaganwedding #kelownawedding #bcwedding #elopebc #pnwelopement #kelownawomeninbusiness #kelownasmallbusiness #kelownaweddingblogger #kelownawomen #kelownacreatives #kelownaprofessionals #weddingplanner #okanaganweddingplanner #kelownaweddingplanner #kelownaeventdesign #kelownaweddingdesign #okanaganweddingflorist #kelownaweddingflorist #kelownaflorist #loveduringcorona #postponedontcancel

On Wednesday, BC released it’s restart plan in response to COVID-19. It’s positive in terms of being able to move forward, and begin to expand our social circle. Elective surgeries will resume, additional health care and wellness offices will reopen, along with some small businesses including restaurants and hair salons. ALL of these will do so with extreme caution and with policies in place to ensure people remain healthy. But, my primary focus was on what does this mean for... weddings? With the exception of one wedding, our entire 2020 season has postponed. On a personal level, it’s disheartening and stressful. However, it was the right call. The restart plan still prohibits any gatherings over 50 people (including vendors and staff), and you also have to adhere to the social distancing guidelines of 2 metres. Only essential travel is recommended, and it goes without saying that a wedding does not fall within that category. The last phase noted that large gatherings will only be permitted to take place when/if a vaccine is found or if there is enough community immunity. This one has been a bit tough for me to wrap my head around because there is no guarantee a vaccine will be created, and it’s likely that we’ve been unable to build up immunity because of the order to stay home. This isn’t meant to create an argument, it’s simply to say that we still really have no end date. However, because a wedding is significantly smaller than a concert, maybe we will see the size of gatherings increase in the future? Honestly, there is no way of knowing, so all we can do is wait. There was an overwhelming response to create an updated blog post on planning and/or postponing your wedding during COVID-19, so I will get working on that and release it as soon as possible! In the meantime, take care of yourself. Each day, do something that makes you happy. Is it going for a walk? Binge watching a new Netflix series? Having a virtual get together? We’re all going through something different during this, so be kind to yourself and to one another.

Introducing: OKANAGAN ELOPEMENTS! It's no secret that 2020 is looking significantly different than planned, weddings included. In the beginning, there was shock and sadness, but I believe we're now in a stage of acceptance. Nothing was ever in our control and this is just one giant reminder. What we do have is choice. A choice to find beauty in the pain and/or light in the darkness. Our mindset and how we look at things has a big impact in our daily lives. What does this have... to do with elopements? Well, we can't host 100+ of our closest family and friends to celebrate marriage, but you can get married. It's worth noting that your commitment was always the focus with or without the party, and that hasn't changed. How you feel about one another has most likely grown stronger through this, and the vows you planned or want to say are more meaningful now than ever, so why wait? I've created an all inclusive package that focuses on personalization, while providing a sense of ease. Each vendor has an extremely heart centred approach to weddings and we've come together to celebrate you! Your love is our beauty and our light, and it should not be postponed. Click through for more details or head to https://www.kaitlynellisevents.ca//introducing-okanagan-el to learn more about what's included - each one features a totally different vibe and palette to try and celebrate as many couples as possible. If you are looking to get married on a different date or want a more personalized design, please reach out! I've also created a stand alone service to fit individual needs. Your story needs to be shared now more then ever, and I can't wait to hear from you! To schedule a complimentary consultation, head to https://keeweddings.as.me/schedule.php or you can also email me directly at [email protected].

To my beautiful community, we are navigating through uncharted waters and my hope is to provide you with a small sense of guidance. Today on the blog, I’m talking about postponing your Okanagan wedding and COVID-19. If your plan was to get married in April or May, my heart goes out to you. Unfortunately, we are at a point where it is our duty to stay at home and there are regulations that have been put in place to prohibit large gatherings. Please know that this is not what ...anyone wanted, but these are the times where we have to take a step back and find gratitude in the present. You’ve found the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with, and that’s a beautiful thing. If you’re unsure of the steps to take to begin the process of postponing your wedding, follow the link below. www.kaitlynellisevents.ca//postponing-your-okanagan-weddin
