Outdoor milk bath session anyone??? Last week I chatted about how I'll only be photographing outdoor sessions for the next 4-12 weeks - depending on how case numbers are looking. I also showed a number of different ways we can have fun doing a GORGEOUS women's portrait session for you outside. And it made me think back to this amazing milk bath session I did for these two incredible ladies. I would absolute love to do it again!... As a little reminder, I have private property available for you to use for your session with me if you don't have access to a private outdoor space and are uncomfortable shooting in public. Whether you want to set up a milk bath, have your portraits taken in the woods in a beautiful gown, do relaxed outdoor lifestyle session, etc. I'm ready when you are! . . . @twobudsfloral @stagecoach_rentals #EdmontonPortraiture #EdmontonBoudoir #EdmontonPortraitPhotographer #EdmontonBoudoirPhotographer #EdmontonPhotographer #PortraitPhotographer #BoudoirPhotographer #Edmonton #PortraitPhotographer #BoudoirPhotography #BoudoirPhotos #CreativePortrait #MoodyPortraits #BoudoirPhoto #MoodyPhotography #BoudoirPortrait #FineArtPortraits #Portraiture #FineArtBoudoir #BoudoirPose #WomensPortraiture #IntimatePhotography #GlamourPortrait #DarkAndMoodyPhotography #StrongConfidentWomen #MilkBathBoudoir #MilkBath #OutdoorBoudoir

Elopement tip for engaged couples!!! You can save money by scheduling your elopement on a weekday instead of the weekend! Many venues, services, travel fees, accommodation, and other vendors have special rates for weekday elopements.... Other benefits to having your elopement on a weekday are: - Less crowds at popular ceremony & photo locations - Start your honeymoon that weekend - More vendor & venue availability . . . @twobudsfloral #AlbertaElopement #AlbertaElopementPhotographer #yegPhotographer #ElopementPhotographer #BigKnifeProvincialPark #ElopementPhotographer #ElopementGuide #AlbertaElopementGuide #AlbertaDestinationWedding #AlbertaDestinationPhotographer #AdventureWedding #WildElopements #FineArtWeddings #AdventurousLoveStories #Elopement #Elopements #AdventureBride #MoodyWedding #BohoBrides #Eloped #BohoBrideToBe #IntimateElopement #IntimateElopements #ElopementPackages #WereGoingOnAnAdventure #ElopementTipsAndTricks #PhotographyTipsAndTricks #DesertBride #DesertElopement

Portrait Tip!!! Whether you're getting your portraits taken professionally or attempting to do some self portraiture wirh your partner - remember to keep your heads abnormally close! Haha! I first learned this trick during my own engagement session WAY before I was in photography so so many years ago now ... It may feel awkward because you don't normally keep your faces that close, but trust me!!! It'll add intimacy and romance to your portrait. It can even add some moments of genuine laughter which are always so special to capture on camera. . . . #yegCouples #yegCouplesPhotographer #yegPhotographer #CouplesPhotographer #yeg#EngagementPhotographer #EdmontonEngagementPhotographer #IntimatePhotographer #IntimatePhotography #AlbertaEngagement #TravelingPhotographer #LifestylePhotograper #CouplesWhoTravel #CoupleSession #CoupleGoals #WereEngaged #CouplesPhotos #CouplesPortraits #InstaCouples #HappyCouples #LifestylePortrait #IGCouple #BaeBeLike #CoupleLifestyle #CuteCouplesOfInstagram #PortraitTips #PhotographyTipsAndTricks #PhotographyTips #PosingTipsAndTricks #PostingTips

Happy Easter Monday everyone! I'm still on holidays today but wanted to pop on to wish you all a happy Monday. I hope it was a good long weekend despite the restrictions and the panini! For myself, it was definitely a well deserved break before things get busy this summer with elopements and portrait sessions. Speaking of which, I still have available dates for 2021 & 2022. Reach out sooner rather than later to secure your date :)... Happy Long Weekend!!! A quick heads up that I'll be taking a true break this long weekend to spend some time with my husband who's been working out of town A LOT lately. I miss him so so much so this weekend is truly needed. I'll be back in the office on Tuesday to answer emails and post on social media regularly again :)... In the meantime, please enjoy this photo of Brandon taking in the Scottish landscape. Can't wait to get back there when this is all over!!! . . . #yegPhotographer #EdmontonPhotographer #TravelPhotographer #ElopementPhotographer #TravelScotland #MissingScotland #LandscapePhotography #LandscapePhotographer #TravelJunkie #ScottishLandscapes

Sharing the love today with this beautiful soul - @sheenaraebeauty We met right before the pandemic started at a @yegbossbabes event. Something about her told me that she was a kind soul who I needed in my life. And that instinct turned out to be correct!! We've worked together on countless shoots, vent to each other when we're feeling low, & hype each other up when we need it. And guess what? She's also a brilliant hair & makeup artist! Like seriously - go check out her prof...ile NOW! She's always the first makeup artist I recommend to elopement clients & the first I try to work into portrait schedules. So if you're still on the hunt for hair & makeup - there's no one I'd suggest more than Sheena!! Thanks for your love & support girl. I can't wait to see all the places we go . . . #hairandmakeup #bridalhair #bridalmakeup #elopementmakeup #yeginfluencer #beautyinfluencer #shoutout #edmonton #edmontonmakeupartist #yegmakeupartist #yegbeauty #edmontonbeauty #myfriend

For those who may not know, I had quit my full time job at the university in September. Since then I've been in a constant state of anxiety. What if I fail? What if I run out of savings? What if things don't pick up after covid?... What if? What if? What if? But something clicked this weekend. I can't tell you what it was. I honestly don't know. But I'm finally in a state of happiness, fulfillment, & peace. Maybe it was the constant affirmations I whispered to myself every day. Maybe the moral support from Brandon and my family. Maybe it's the spring air!? I really don't know. But I do know that I'm so proud of myself for never giving up & never quitting. I still have a long way to go to make my passion a full time sustainable career to support my family. But I'm okay with that. It's about the journey, not the destination, right? So I encourage you, don't give up. Ever. If you're passionate about something, keep giving it your all because one day you'll be rewarded & you'll find peace Happy Monday all! Be kind, be safe, & keep going. . . . photo by @seannaleafphotography #yegPhotographer #yegSmallBusiness #Edmonton #CoffeeAddict #BeKind #FoundPeace #NeverGiveUpNeverSurrender

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to take time & space for you. Leave the house messy. Ignore phone calls. Buy that thing you don't "need."... Enjoy that treat you've been craving. Put off your responsibilities for a day or two. It's not selfish to put yourself first. You're not lazy for relaxing. Take the time & space you need this weekend to recharge. You absolutely deserve it. . . . Spring is in the air and I'm excited to get back out gardening, hiking, & exploring the gorgeous landscapes Alberta has to offer! My goal this summer is to get to the mountains more, camp more, & rent a SUP board and give it a go! I feel like stand up paddling and I would be a fairly compatible pair. I want to know what you're most excited for this summer. It's been a hot minute since I've done an about me post that wasn't centered on the photography side of my life. So here we go!!! Hi, I'm Kaitlyn!!! I'm a goofy, nerdy, open-hearted woman who loves to laugh! When I'm not working you'll usually find me walking or snuggling my French Bulldog - Molly, planning future trips, playing the Sims or Animal Crossing, binge watching some nerdy TV or movie series (just finished rewatching Battlestar Galactica, starting to rewatch Harry P...otter now!), gardening, or hiking! Most of my hobbies revolve around the creative arts or being outside like - photography (obviously), drawing, painting, crochet, embroidery (this is brand new), dancing, writing, gardening, walking, hiking, weightlifting, etc. I'm a fairly quiet person around new people. I like to listen. I like to get to know you. And one day, out of nowhere, I'll chat your ear off and you'll wonder where I was hiding all this time! I take pride in my ancestry. My grandma immigrated from Finland and made sure the Finnish way of life was passed on to us. I've also put a lot of work into learning more about my paternal ancestry - Irish, Scottish, English, & German. I think it's important to keep all cultures thriving as the world becomes more & more globalized. And I'll leave it at that today!! I totally miss doing these get to know me posts so they'll be popping up in rotation more frequently again I'd LOVE to get to know you too! Comment below something about you. Something unique, maybe a hobby you have, your favourite TV or movie series, anything! Happy Friday friends. Be kind. Be safe. Find happiness. . . . #AboutMe #PhotographerAboutMe #FridayFeeling #yegPhotographer #SelfPortrait #NerdLife #yeg #yegSmallBusiness

You're elopement is going to be AMAZING! It doesn't matter what size it is. It doesn't matter where it is. And it doesn't matter how many elements you've included. What matters is that this day is authentic to you. It celebrates your connection and love for one another. And you're going to make incredible memories <3 There's no singular formula to elopements. So I mean it when I say - it's whatever you want it to be! The main thing is that it's intimate and the focus is purel...y on you two. You're freaking amazing for choosing to elope. It takes guts to go against the grain. But it's a decision that you won't ever regret, but it's authentic to you - you did it your way. I wanted to throw this out there today just in case you're thinking of eloping but have a few negative influences out there insisting you shouldn't or can't do it. You've got my support. And you've got the support of each other. . . . #ElopementPhotographer #ElopementPhotography #AlbertaPhotographer #TravellingPhotographer #OntarioElopement #OntarioIntimateWedding #OntarioElopementPhotographer #IntimateWedding #BeAuthentic #BohoBrideToBe #IntimateElopement #IntimateElopements #ElopementPackages #WereGoingOnAnAdventure #Elopements #AdventureBride #MoodyWedding #BohoBrides #Eloped

Hey friends, it's me Kaitlyn :) I usually try to do a 'fun facts' about me on Friday's to help show who this person behind the camera is. But today's post is going to be a bit more somber and just super real with you. Last week was not a good week. I lost a loved one who I was very close to. I lost a cousin, a family friend, and someone I love dearly lost someone close them. Last week was awful.... Add new lockdown, COVID fatigue, & anxiety on top of that. Add small business navigating through a pandemic on top of that. And finally add the regular day to day struggles that can weigh you down mentally. I've always wanted my IG page to be full of positivity & beautiful images. A place for you to come to & forget the hard things life brings us. But these past few weeks have been very challenging for me to show up positively. So, with that I'm going to be taking a little social media break. I have a few planned posts for next week & I may or may not hop on my stories here & there. But between now & Jan. 4th I don't plan to be very active on here. I'll still be checking my emails - so please reach out to me if you have questions about booking a session/elopement. I encourage you to take breaks as well, whenever you need to. Your well being is more important than anything else. Have a Happy Christmas & New Year. Photo by @emilyoud

Are you still confused on how to get married during COVID? Don't worry, it's confusing because the regulations change every season to account for active cases & they're different per province/country. So of course it's really confusing!!! To help make things simpler, I've created the ultimate guide on how to elope in Alberta during COVID. I go over why you shouldn't postpone your wedding, what your options are, and a quick mini guide on how to plan an elopement.... If you're debating postponing your wedding or going through with it, this is a must read guide! Go check it out now! . . . Do you know how to elope in Alberta legally? One of the most confusing & stressful parts about planning an elopement is making sure you're marriage is actually done legally. I've created a detailed guide on how to elope in Alberta legally whether you're an Albertan/Canadian resident or eloping from another country. Click the link in my blog to learn what documents you need, where to find them, & everything else you need to legally elope in Alberta!!!... . . . You deserve to have your elopement photos in an album. Albums are truly amazing for a million reasons. But here are a few reasons why I think they'll be amazing for you: - You'll have a keepsake that's actually tangible & you're able to physically interact with... - You're images will be illustrated in a full curated story, exactly the way you remember it (not just a bunch of random images that may or may not be out of context) - You'll create new memories by sitting down with loved ones, holding your album, flipping pages, & recalling your memories together I could go on forever & give more reasons why albums are a must have keepsake. But I think you get the idea. These beliefs are the reasons why I reworked my elopement collections so that almost every single one of them includes an album. It's because you deserve it. You're elopement story deserves to be memorialized in a beautiful keepsake. . . . @dekoraalbum #dekoraalbum #elopement #elopementphotographer #albertaelopementphotographer #rockieselopementphotographer #elopementalbum #photoalbum #keepsake

Kaitlyn Hill Photography 08.12.2020

PERSONAL-ish POST! I think it's important to reflect on who & where we were in the past & compare it to who & where we are now. Did I grow? What did I accomplish? Am I moving in the right direction? Lately I think of those questions & my answers aren't very positive. I feel like I haven't grown or accomplished anything. I'm worried that I'm not moving at all but I'm stuck.... So I went back and looked at this styled session I did with my best friend back in 2019. It was when I first decided I was going to start photographing elopements. At the time I took this image, I was wrapped up in what everybody else was doing. Trying to do marketing techniques that didn't vibe with me. Editing the way the internet was telling me to edit. Pushing myself in the directions other's were telling me to go in. This year I finally shut out the noise. I found mentors who encouraged my way of thinking & my creativity. They encouraged me to be ME. That in itself has pushed me in ways I never thought possible. Since this shoot I've been able to find my 'style'. I've photographed multiple intimate weddings & an elopement (almost booked a helicopter elopement but COVID ruined that - haha). I've worked with others to create a brand that is true to me. And I've started to truly enjoy being a photographer again. Sometimes progress is slow. But it's progress none-the-less. It's important to me to look back on old sessions to see how much my photography & editing has changed & how much I've accomplished between then & now. This is a new edit from an old session. It's softer, moodier, and is true to me & my art. This is the type of image I see in my mind & the type I want to create. Sometimes without looking back, you don't realize how far you've come. . . . #elopementphotographer #albertaelopement #dessertelopement #bigknife #bridalportraits #albertaelopementphotographer #albertatravel #hikingbride #bohobride #yegsmallbusiness
