Great kumite practice today! Thank you to Sensei Germain Bisson, Sensei Higashi, the Saiko Shihan council and all the participants who make it so much fun. Even though we are not able to train in person , Chito Ryu is alive and well. We keep training, so we are ready to return!

A flashback! Those were fun times.

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 04.03.2021

The PHO update for group sports, is lifting some restrictions, but unfortunately not enough for us to be able to reopen. See below for details. Fingers crossed we get a couple of months in before summer! We really miss everyone, and are looking forward to seeing our students, existing ones and new ones!

Once we are able to reopen, we would love more women and girls come and try karate with us. You don't have to be young, or in good shape. Karate is for every body. It's not just something for your kids to do. Come and be amazed at what you can do, you'll love it.

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 21.01.2021

We're still training. Always something to practice and refine. Thank you Sensei Germain Bisson, for another inspiring and motivating seminar.

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 10.01.2021

In order to comply with the new covid order, we will have to suspend classes for the next two weeks. We will resume, hopefully Wednesday November 25 at the Loft. Use this time to associate the kihon and kata names with the first 4 techniques, we're still hoping to grade in December. See you in a couple of weeks.

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 20.12.2020

Rest, temporarily... don't quit.

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 11.12.2020

While practicing advanced techniques is also important, during the covid restrictions, keep working on those basics you already know. Unfortunately, Dr. Bonnie Henry has extended the current restrictions for a while longer yet, so no in person training for the time being. Looking forward to seeing you soon. We will make another update as we get them.

Have courage and dive into something new, you never know where it might lead. contact: [email protected]

Kaizen Chito Ryu Karate 26.07.2020

Well, we are very excited to welcome students back to training, our awesome core crew, as well as new students 12 years of age to 112 years of age. Times and location to be announced. While Viasport and Karate BC are looking to resume contact in a cohort model, we are going to continue with social distancing for the time being, and keep our class sizes small, so enrollment will be limited to older youth and adults, who will have an easier time with social distancing requir...ements. We want our students to enjoy training in a safe and positive environment. We may also look at having a women's only morning class if there is interest. Please contact Sensei Karen for more information, see contact info below. Like and share, help us get the word out.

A message from our Canadian Chito Ryu president. We're really missing all of our students and our training. Hope you're all doing well. Message from Andre Buret, President CCRKA... Dear Chito Ryu family member, This message is to send you all our support during these difficult COVID times. Even though we are not able to meet in person, this is also to inform you that our Saiko Shihan Council and Executive have regular conversations to make sure our Association remains strong in the face of this global challenge. With this, I hope you, your families, and friends are doing well. Please let us know if there is anything one of us could possibly help with where there is a need. Several of you have found different ways of continuing to train, which is important for all of us. I encourage you all to make the best of your space at home, and with the arrival of the Spring, may be your back yard. I really look forward to seeing you all in a dojo in a near future. Until then, lets make sure we remain healthy and sane. One of the good jokes I heard these days is that once we will all be allowed to go outside again, it may be time for all of us to be incarcerated!. Jokes aside, take care of your health, body and mind. Training sure does make me feel good in my daily routine. With this, I just wanted to make sure you all are fine despite the times. And to let you know that the Saiko Shihan Council and Executive are all well! Times will be better soon, always stay positive. I will also add that all of us are sending our warmest thoughts to our Chito Ryu family members in Nova Scotia in view of the tragic events that unfolded there a couple of days ago. Know that we are with you all, and that we offer you our strength and support. Isshin! I discussed with Higashi Sensei, who also sends his warm greetings to all of you. He asked me to pass on these words: Stay home and take care of yourselves. He also said Hey, I got Corona beer! In other words, good sign, Sensei is full of humour and health, as usual! Again, I hope you all are doing well, despite the challenges. Stay strong and healthy and see you all soon! Andre Buret, President CCRKA
