A valuable offering from our friends Nelson & District Hospice Society.
Practical advice on grieving and emotional resiliency.
"Hospice and palliative care providers are joining a wider conversation that has been building in the public space about human beings’ understanding of death an...d how that affects health care at the end-of-life. These discussions are moving outside the halls of medicine into the public sphere, including events such as Death Over Dinner and Death Cafes and popular offerings such as documentaries, feature films, books and even games." #AdvanceCarePlanning #CHPCA #CanadianHospice #Hospice #PalliativeCare Read full article here: http://ow.ly/g7zr50D0SGW

The moment I die, I will try to come back to you as quickly as possible. I promise it will not take long. Isn’t it true I am already with you in every moment?... I come back to you in every moment. Just look, feel my presence. If you want to cry, please cry. And know that I will cry with you. The tears you shed will heal us both. Your tears are mine. The earth I tread this morning transcends history. Spring and Winter are both present in the moment. The young leaf and the dead leaf are really one. My feet touch deathlessness, and my feet are yours. Walk with me now. Let us enter the dimension of oneness and see the cherry tree blossom in Winter .. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh ~ Image by Sky- Genta via Flickr

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of pediatric hospice palliative care & improve the quality of living and dying for infants, children and youth with life-threatening conditions. A great article here on the collective grief that we are all currently feeling and some good tips on how to process that grief and get through these challenging times... https://www.griefandsympathy.com/coronavirus-grief.html
Are you grieving? Everyone deserves the chance to say goodbye to their loved ones, even during the unprecedented times we have been recently going through. There have been too many heartbreaking stories of families who were unable to say goodbye or hold proper end-of-life ceremonies due to the extreme restrictions that have been in place around end-of-life visitations. ... The CHPCA has come up with a way to acknowledge the grief so many Canadians have experienced during these unprecedented times, by holding an online concert in conjunction with National Bereavement Day. If you would like to honour your loved one who has passed and add their name to the event, we encourage you to submit your entry, using this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W6H56K9 The submission deadline for the National Bereavement Day, Saying Goodbye Concert, is August 17, 2020.
