We got caught in the rain and we’ve never felt so free

THE MASKS WE WEAR Wearing this mask more often has been more enlightening on my mental health than it has for my physical being. It’s made me think of the masks we wear day in and day out.... With our children, family, friends and even to ourselves. The I’m ok mask that tells everyone that everything is ok when it is not. The positivity mask when you are quite literally bypassing the crap so you don’t have to uncover what’s underneath The look at me do all the things mask while inside you are burning out and depleted The fake it until you make it mask (we all know this one well!) The I’m so grateful mask because being anything less than grateful is ungrateful and that’s not ‘acceptable’ mask The masks people wear are endless, and it’s time we dig deeper, cut the b.s., and start honouring all the pieces of yourself. Even the ungrateful parts. Because the more you just try to put a mask on it the more the feeling bubbles up until it explodes. It’s time to LEAN IN and not let go. Leaning in, ripping off the mask is where the magic happens and where true gratitude can fester I’ve lived a lot of years with all of the masks above and more and let me tell you it’s been LIBERATING to peel it off and start to revel in the realness of life.
