Time to collar up, with my new GPS tracking system! Some of you know that I've been trialing different GPS systems with the crews for the last year now for added security and safety when out on the trails, particularly for new dogs. After having tried 2 different systems with not the best results, I got a suggestion from another hiking company; Now, I have finally found and purchased the perfect system: the Garmin GPS tracking system. ... With this high tech system I can track up to 10 dogs simultaneously from one handheld and have a range up to 9 miles with incredible accuracy and satellite mapping. The technology of Garmin for GPS is unmatched. You will notice photos of some dogs wearing the collars. Eventually every dog will be collared. I chose these collars in particular because they are strictly GPS trackers. These collars are NOT ecollars; there is NO shock, NO vibrate, no aversive sounds. Strictly for GPS purposes I invested in this technology to add an extra safeguard to my hikes. Safety of my crews is paramount to me while they're out being dogs. We already practice consistent recall, and use long lines for new dogs, but these collars will provide an additional strategy and safety precaution while out especially in the deeper forests, out of cell range where we typically hike. I am proud to be the first and only K9 adventure company in Kamloops with GPS tracking technology and am happy to provide that added safety for my crews and added peace of mind to my valued clients.
