Kamloops Bike Ranch 10.12.2020

The KPCC would like to acknowledge a generous donation from the Bicycle Cafe Kamloops, who donated the entire proceeds of their recent Bicycle Café Kids Camp he...ld at the Kamloops Bike Ranch directly back into Bike Ranch projects and operations. The camp was attended by 18 excited riders coached by local legends Dylan Sherrard, Matt Hunter, Matt Miles, Justin Ralston, Shawn and Kiera Melnechuck and Johnny Helly, who volunteered their time for these kids. A special thanks also to Mostly Mental Shuttles for donating and repairing the shuttle in a pinch! Also, big thanks to CLIF Bar for the fuel needed to keep these rippers flying. And finally, many thanks to the parents, who trusted our COVID restrictions, and brought their kids to camp to keep them shredding. The Bicycle Café donated camp proceeds of $3,500.00 to the KPCC, targeted for the Kamloops Bike Ranch. Funds have already been spent on all the wonderful upgrades happening at the Ranch. We’d also like to acknowledge the hard work of KPCC employees Brad Stuart and Cody Chambers, who have been working hard everyday since April in the Bike Ranch , to keep the magic happening! The KPCC is so fortunate to have the support of our riding community to keep the networks we manage: The Kamloops Bike Ranch, Pineview Trail Network, Harper Mountain Trail Network and the Isobel Winter Trail Network, ready to ride for all. Ranch Season Update: This season has been a challenge for everyone at the Ranch with the most new riders and traffic and with all our events being canceled. However with the support of the community we have been able to make some amazing improvements this season. Brad and Cody have been working very hard to build new sections, improving old trails and revamping them to be even better, the addition of soon to be open lower Tombstone, upgrades on Wrangler and in the skills park and corral area. All in all an amazing season and many more wonderful improvements to come! Check it out and thanks for the photos Cody!

The Ranch is getting a lot of complaints about large groups of friends shuttling, congregating in large groups and generally poor social distancing practices at the Ranch. Currently the City has kept the park open with the caveat "If People are being responsible". BC Parks are now closed, be responsible if you'd like to keep the Ranch Open. Although all trails are now officially open: ... Snow, frost or rain cause mud. If you see mud, stop riding. If you are leaving marks in the mud, turn around and head back off the trail. See more

Please don't continue to ride if this is what you are leaving behind on a trail. Conditions are variable this time of year so riders need to make better choices! Cold weather, rain, snow and mud might mean you can't do that ride you wanted sometimes.

We have had several reports of poor social distancing in the bike ranch over the past weekend. If you’d like to keep the Ranch open please keep yourselves separated and space out 2 meters between. Do not shuttle unless it’s immediate family only, do not congregate anywhere. The park will close if these occurrences continue.
