On Thursday, November 12 (Pro-D Day) KCS teachers participated in the virtual InspirEd convention for Christian School educators within BC and Washington State. Along with hundreds of other educators, KCS teachers were inspired by Dr. Kevin Smith to reimagine community as more than a group of people who share interests and commonalities. God draws us together in His community to serve each other, not to serve our own interests. I feel better when I am not self-centred. I...t directs my attention to God and His big world and not so much to myself... When I am not the center, I am not as alone. Let’s draw strength from each other and from God by praying for each other and serving each other! On Friday, November 13, KCS staff worked together through an online course on Trauma Informed Practices in order to build our strategies to support all students emotionally and socially. Students can only learn when they are self-regulated and at peace. We will continue working at implementing PEACEful School strategies throughout the year.

Scholastic at KCS Your kids will still have an opportunity to peruse the books and unique products that they’ve always loved! Students in Grades K-8 will preview the Book Fair on Monday, Nov. 23 and they may make a wish list. Wish lists will be sent home, and any students who would like to purchase an item from the Book Fair may do so on the specific day listed below. This is a great opportunity to purchase any of the school tools or special trinkets! Of course, feel free to... make your own purchases on a Book Fair Café day or online through the virtual Book Fair link. (Please note that the school tools and special trinkets are not available for purchase through the online Book Fair link.) Wed. Nov. 25 Kindies & Middle School (Grades 68) Thurs. Nov. 27 Elementary School (Grades 15) Students who wish to purchase items from the Book Fair are asked to bring exact cash / change to school in a sealed ziploc bag (labelled with their name) on their specific shopping day.
