Yesterday, the provincial health order was changed to now include movie theatres, therefore we have been asked to cease all operations until December 7th. This includes private bookings as well as our regular screenings every weekend. If you bought tickets for a show that has now been cancelled, please email us at [email protected] for a refund if you’d like one. Thank you for your understanding during this time, and we’ll see you when this health order is lifted. Stay safe everyone!

MEET THE TEAM Kendalyn was born and raised in Kamloops, and has lived all over the valley during her twenty three years in the city. Having graduated from Thompson Rivers University in the spring of 2020 with her Bachelors in English, Kendalyn is looking forward to a long career of never letting anyone read any of her several unfinished novels. If not inside watching movies or playing video games, Kendalyn has been known to frequent many of Kamloops’ local cafes, often drinki...ng iced coffee while wearing a winter jacket and scarf which only adds to her charade as the mysterious used bookstore’s frumpy specter. Kendalyn is excited to be a part of the KFS staff, and to share her love of film and movies with other local film enthusiasts while also getting a chance to work in the theatre which holds many personal memories. Some of Kendalyn’s favourite films include, Coraline, The Craft, Redline, The Mummy and St. Trinians. Thanks for joining the team Kendalyn!

As patrons of the KFS know, we have been implementing our COVID-19 Safety Plan since we reopened, and as per the new provincial health order, we are remaining open. As per the BC Government site, "Movie theatres can continue to operate as long as they have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place. These plans include measures like physical distancing, small numbers of seats, cleaning protocols and mask wearing. " With masks now being mandatory inside spaces, patrons who have been to ...the Paramount since we reopened are aware that masks are mandatory inside the theatre until you are seated. Now in compliance with the new provincial health order, masks will be mandatory unless you are eating and drinking in your seat. Private Bookings will still be going on as well, however with more information coming out in the next few days we will keep everyone updated. Thank you!

We've had some new additions to the KFS team lately that we'd love you to get to know! Next up is the one and only Jessica Buchanan! Jessica was born and raised in Kamloops, but has had the pleasure of also living in Wells, BC and Toronto. She is a graduate of TRU, where she obtained her BA in Theatre with a minor in History. She recently moved back from Toronto where she attended The Second City Training Centre in the Conservatory Program, Advanced Writing and Improv for Ac...tors courses. She is the Co-Founding Director of The Freudian Slips Improv Troupe and is currently the Education Assistant with Western Canada Theatre. She is also an actor, writer, educator and improviser on the side; when she’s not nose deep in a historical biography. Jessica is super stoked (which is generally her natural way of existing) to be working with KFS and at The Paramount; which has been one of her favourite buildings since she started watching movies there as a little kid. Her favourite memory of The Paramount was when she watched The Runaways one hot, lazy summer evening and it truly made her believe in The Magic of The Movies Jessica’s favourite films include It’s A Wonderful Life, A Mighty Wind, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Anchorman, Jojo Rabbit, The Big Chill, Pirate Radio and many, many more. Welcome Jessica!
