But, a turn in the weather, unexpected injury, or equipment failure, can quickly change any recreational adventure into a crisis. One of the best ways to ensure your safety when you're enjoying the outdoors this winter is to leave a trip plan with a responsible person at home. That way you can provide some crucial information that can help responders find you in an emergency. AdventureSmart, Canada’s national prevention program for outdoor recreationalists, has made this step too easy by providing a free trip plan smartphone app. Stay safe! (DG)
