Jill has invested over 30 years at Kampus Kids Early Learning Centre and has enriched the lives of our next generations. This is an opportunity to wish her a happy birthday and share a few word of how she has influenced and sewn into your children through her dedication to them and to all of the Kampus Kids family! ... Oh the weather outside is frightful . To that end, we would like to start using an on-line screening tool to help shorten our wait times in the morning. We may still have some wait lines, but we are hoping that they will move quicker and smoother as we will have less paperwork to complete. We invite you to use the link covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/covid-alert. When this is done on your mobile device, it will give you the option of adding to your home scre...en. You will be able to access it easily every day before you come to daycare. If the results of the screening is an x on a red screen you will be instructed not to bring your child to daycare, to contact the daycare to let them know, to isolate, and talk to a doctor or health care provider. If the result is a checkmark on a green screen your child will be able to attend daycare. You can show the staff your screen and they will check to see that you indeed have been given the go-ahead and they will check the date that the screening was done. The child’s attendance and time of entry will be recorded in their classroom. If you chose not to do online screening, or have an alternate person dropping your child off, we will still offer in person screening and staff will document your answers to the Covid-19 screening questions. We are doing everything we can to keep our lineups moving and short. We thank you for your continued patience as we again make changes. We are looking forward to start offering this beginning on Wednesday, December 9th.

SNOW DAYS We have dotted all our i’s and crossed all our t’s, and our Snow Day plans are complete. Each of our School-Age programs will be able to offer daycare on snow days AT THEIR OWN SITE providing that those staff are able to attend. This service is only open to children who are already using full or part-time care with Kampus Kids. You must call or text your child’s site to confirm that there will be care available and that you will be bringing your child to daycare.... For this to be possible, we will need to change our hours on snow days to ensure proper staffing. On snow days all of our school-age programs (Commonwealth, Front of Yonge, Lyn, Meadowview, and Toniata) will have reduced hours. They will be open at 8:00 am and will close at promptly 5:00 pm. Children will need to bring their lunch, a water bottle, and dress warmly for the weather as they will spend time outside if possible. The daycare will provide an afternoon snack. We are excited to offer this service in light of all of our COVID-19 restrictions and protocols. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS We have also worked out a plan for offering care during the Holidays. We have secured separate rooms at Commonwealth for each of our five School-age programs. This will allow us to staff each program with their own regular staff as much as possible, to meet Health Unit regulations. During the Holidays there will be special activities, games, crafts, and celebrations! Thursday, December 24 we will be snuggled up for Pajama Day and will close the daycare at 1 pm to allow time for the big guy’s arrival. Monday, December 28th we are closed for Boxing Day. On Thursday, December 31st it is Dress Up day, we all want to look spiffy for our New Years' party and we will close at 3 pm on this day. Monday, January 4th is back to school and regular routines. If you require care during the holidays or need to make changes to your child’s schedule, please let the daycare know ASAP so that we can prepare properly for numbers. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS We have spoken to all of our school-age program principals about PA Daycare. All of our principals have been very helpful and accommodating throughout the re-start of school and with all of our mutual new protocols. It is unfortunate that we will not always be able to access each individual site on PA Days as these spaces are typically used by the staff for their meetings and learning sessions on these days. Therefore, each PA Day will be assessed individually, and we will let parents know if we are able to offer care as soon as we are able. Please watch your newsletters for information. Questions? Kampus Kids School-Age Parents: As the weather is unpredictable and there is a possibility of inclement weather days in the near future, Kampus kids is working to face this new set of challenges. At this time we do NOT have a care for school-age children at any of our sites for snow days. We are working at finding a solution for this problem that is both suiting for the schools and helpful to Kampus Kids families. Please bear with us as we work alongside the schools and our Board of Directors to navigate this challenge. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Updates to follow as they are available.
