This is a bad idea, period. You may get away with once, maybe twice but eventually somethings gotta give. Your wipers may seem as powerful and determined as the little train that could but the system isnt meant for heavy snow loads. The splines or teeth that connect your wipers to the linkage are fine and too weak for several inches of heavy snow. Putting too much force on this connection can break the linkage, strip the mounting area, break wipers and fry motors. ... Whenever there is a lot of snow or freezing rain be sure to clean the windshield fully including the wiper rest area before turning them on. Have a remote car starter? If so make sure your wipers are off before getting out so you avoid starting your car and unintentionally turning your wipers on. Stay safe out there.

Public Service Announcement: This is a great tool when used properly and on the right surfaces. With the cold snap still consuming us youll be going for this tool a lot so keep it handy.
