On Friday, October 23, 2020 we welcomed the Honourable Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development and MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex ...to our Wallaceburg Site to announce provincial funding for our Replacement Power Plant Project. Special guests included officials from Walpole Island First Nation, municipal councillors, Mayor Darrin Canniff, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation and community supporters. A $7.3 million grant from the province will pave the way for critical upgrades at our Wallaceburg Site. This funding will pay for construction of a new power plant to replace aging equipment with new boilers, generators and electrical distribution equipment. The Replacement Power Plant Project marks the beginning of a phased approach to redeveloping the Wallaceburg Site to meet the community’s needs for years to come.
