Merry Christmas to all of our Dance Families!!

This Fraser Health post is misleading. While we can appreciate the real data Fraser Health is outlining, the fact remains, they have incorrectly categorized Dance Studios in with Fitness Classes. Our Dance Studio has countless protocols in place for the safety of our dancers. We are teaching children as young as 2 years old all the way up to Adults. The safety of every individual that enters our facility is of the utmost importance. Our Classes are scheduled into cohor...ts, we do not do "drop-ins" the same children are registered in their regular classes for 10 months. There are no common areas. Our facility is not in a small retail building. We are in a huge warehouse setting with 35 foot ceilings, bay doors that can open to circulate air, separate entrance/exit doors for each studio. The MAJORITY of our classes are not based in working up a sweat. Dance is Art! Creative Movement for all ages. Gymnastics and Cheer have a governing body behind them, Hocky/Soccer/Lacrosse all have ViaSport fighting their fight. Dance Studios stand alone and are suffering tremendously from being falsely lumped into an incorrect narrative. We need Fraser Health to immediately approve our protocols, attend our facilities and get us back up and running and get our kids dancing!! Dancers are athletes too!! If Sports can continue, so should dance! See more

To our dance families, if you have a moment to sign it would be greatly appreciated. We are confident in the Covid Safety plan we created. We are proud of our staff and students for adapting and adhering so well. While other indoor sports can continue while modified, dance has been singled out. We thank you for your time!

Our final graduate is Jayden Harris. Jayden will always be remembered for her drive and dedication to her craft. We have really enjoyed having her as a part of our dance family. Jayden will be attending SFU for Biomedical Physiology and we know she will be a huge success . Good luck Jayden!!! XO

Next up for our Grad Week is Nyla Jeffrey! Nyla is the third of three sisters that have graduated from K&S Dance. Onstage Nyla is a natural performer and always captivating an audience! Nyla will be attending Capilano University in the Outdoor Recreation Management Program. We miss you already Nyla!!!!

Today’s 2020 Grad is Ella Mitzel. Growing up a studio owner’s daughter, Ella’s dance world started at a very young age. It has been a pleasure to watch Ella grow into a beautiful and dynamic dancer possessing such a love and passion for dance. Ella will be attending Western University in Ontario for further studies, but I’m sure this won’t be the last we see of her at K&S Dance. Love you Ella!!

We start our Grad 2020 week with Kennedy Ross!! Kennedy has been a student at K&S since she was 4 years old. She will be remembered for her leadership roles and her extreme talent especially in Musical Theatre. Kennedy will be attending the Nursing Program at Douglas College this fall and we are all excited for her! Congratulations Kennedy !!!!

We have 4 graduating senior students this year...who have sadly had their typical dance year dramatically change, along with their High School Graduation experiences and we want to recognize them!!! Each day this week Tuesday to Friday we will post about each one of our special dancers so make sure to check in to congratulate them!

As many of you know Sharise and Ella were involved in a single car motor vehicle accident on Monday. Very scary, but both are ok and will begin the road to recovery! They are thankful for all the well wishes!

We still have some spots left in our recreational classes for 7-9yrs, 10-12yrs and Teens! Don’t miss out!
