Zombie Kangoo Night 2020
A little sneak peak of our Zombie Extravaganza
It will be a chilly night even for the undead. Most importantly to have fun we must be dressed for the weather. Dress warm, wear mitts. I am chilled to the bone from decorating.
Reminder that Photographer will be onsite tomorrow for Zombie photos. We have permission to use a really cool background. Haven’t you always wanted Zombie family photos?Reminder that Photographer will be onsite tomorrow for Zombie photos. We have permission to use a really cool background. You won’t be a Zombie forever. KCNS has provided the Antidote.

Not usual upbeat post: Last night someone vandalized our gazebo. We love hanging out there and exercising. It’s our base. Until now we didn’t need camera’s in the park. This week I am going to Killam to request them. This is very juvenile behaviour and if they need to let off some steam come try on a pair of our boots. I don’t charge park residents!
A few throw back photos of our Zombie Days in Halifax.
A little warm up for our last class of the year and Zombie Fun Night. If you haven’t tried Kangoo yet you have no idea what you are missing. Join us next Friday at the Gazebo. 44 Liberty Lane Lower South River
You don’t have to be in Kangoo boots to attend our event, it’s an all ages socially distant gathering of fun, fit, happy, brain craving undead the night before HALLOWEEN at the Gazebo. 1. DO NOT touch anyone and remain in your bubble or 6 feet apart to avoid the OTHER virus. 2. Even though you and I may love this kind of thing there may be others who do not, respect their space and they will respect our celebration. No splattered blood or garbage left on site. Leave the par...k as we found it. Stay on public property DO NOT go into private properties. Stick to the route. 3. DO NOT attempt to scare anyone who is not a willing participant. If anyone is freaking out, turn and shamble in the opposite direction. 4. No walking out into traffic or blocking cars. 5. Any weaponry should be easily discernible as fake. 6. No profanities zombies don’t swear 7. Be the best Zombie you can be; You’re wearing fake blood and ripped up clothes and walking around moaning in public, doing that louder will not be any more embarrassing. 8. Walk like a zombie this is not a speed-walking event, zombies lurch, crawl, limp, slither, etc, not run zombie except for avoiding traffic. 9. Stay in character We know everyone is excited about this, but zombies do not truly have the motor or cognitive abilities to operate a camera or cell phone. We have plenty of people who will be documenting the event, so please try to refrain from taking pictures during the actual walk. There will be time after the walk to take photos and/or vids. also, zombies don’t have conversations or text their friends. They’re dead, they’re all messed up. Remember the Facebook Live Zombie Cam. Do your best Zombie Dance for the world to see! 10. Have fun come up with a theme and stay in character as much as possible. There will be Zombie Food Available after our walk! Hope for Nice Weather!!!! See more

My UK Kangoo friends: Anyone interested in learning to run with Kangoo Jumps? I do my running drills in my boots all the time!
Our Terry Fox Run was everything we could have hoped for and more. We had a goal of $100 and we beat that times ten! All of our activities leading up to run day... were so uplifting and helped my kids and many others have a sense of belongingness. A lot of our Kangoo Club kids have never had a sport that suited them or just never knew what they could really do! I can’t imagine my week without our Thursday night meet ups now! Big thanks to all the parents who helped out by getting their kids to class and for helping show the importance of helping others. To my mom, none of this would be possible without her amazing energy and determination. You pushed a lot of us to try something new and I never would have thought I’d be the cheer/soccer mom type, but here we are! You helped show how easy (and free!) it is to help out. I’m so proud of you. And the kids! Big ups to all of my little (and medium) homies! They danced, they jumped, they cheered, they showed up! They listened to me rant about Terry’s dream week after week intently. Their compassion and determination showed through with their homemade shirts and participation. Great job guys! Kate MacEachern thank you from the bottom of my heart for presenting the prize to our contest winner! We couldn’t have had a more inspiring special guest to channel Terry’s resilience and strength. To anyone who donated or helped out THANK YOU. To Terry Fox thank you for having a dream and for doing what you believe in. You’ve shown me strength and ability in myself that I didn’t know I had. You were right the answer is to try to help others. I just wish people would realize that anything's possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try. - Terry Fox (July 28, 1958 June 28, 1981) #tryliketerry #terryfox The Terry Fox Foundation - Nova Scotia The Terry Fox Foundation Kangoo Club Nova Scotia
A little dirt and fake blood and you’re Walking Dead ready. Shuffle, groan and stumble through the park with other brain-cravers on Friday October 30th. The First Kangoo Club Nova Scotia Zombie Walk is by far the most unique way to get your steps in. Of course, there are rules and some restrictions. This isn’t World War Z. These zombies won’t be running after anything or anyone will be socially distant and you’ll still have to obey traffic laws.... If you think you can handle that, bring yourself, your friends, kids, and even bring your dog! Feel free to go as all out with your costumes too! This event is a great place to really go for it and to have fun while getting fit. Put your very worst face forward Friday October 30th 6:00 in the park and get creepy Glen Aire!
Today was pretty spectacular thanks to these wonderful people who participated and helped with Lower South Rivers first Terry Fox Run. It was a smashing success. Currently we sit at 940.00 collected and we have not counted the bottles. Special thanks to Theresa for MC-ing and road chalking in French, Kate MacEachern for Presenting the winner of our T-shirt contest (Parker) with his special Terry Fox 4Oth Anniversary Dog Tags. I bet we had the best presenter in Canada today. Kate too has walked across Canada to support her cause and told the kids today how hard it was for her with two legs and healthy body. The loonie represented Terry and the Dog Tags were to honour Kate. Thank You Kangoo Club kids and parents and Thank You Glen Aire. I Love Our Community.

Thursday evening Sept. 10th in park for Kangoo Discovery. 44 Liberty Lane 6:00 pm. All are welcome.
To remember, honour and continue the legacy of Terry Fox. I flew this flight path today which when captured by radar took the shape of the iconic picture of Te...rry Fox running his epic Marathon of Hope 40 years ago to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Terry Fox started his epic run in Newfoundland on April 12 1980 which ended 143 days and over 5,300 kilometres later in Thunder Bay, Ontario, when his cancer spread to his lungs. His efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy. The annual Terry Fox Run which started in 1981, has grown to involve millions of people in more than 60 countries and is now the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research. This flight path is 551 kilometres long and took 2 hours and 14 minutes to complete at an average speed of 243 kilometres per hour at 6,500 feet of altitude over Western Nova Scotia. Terrence Stanley Fox ( July 28, 1958 - June 28, 1981)
6pm tonight! 44 Liberty lane! Everybody and anyone is welcome no charge
I am just blown away by Sharon’s creation for us. This is the prize for the design your Terry Fox Tshirt contest. PS she has a big dart supplies sale going on now!!!!
Forty years ago today, Terry Fox had to stop his Marathon of Hope when his cancer returned. He promised us all that if there was any way he could finish, he would. It was not to be. Terry believed his cancer diagnosis gave him a sense of purpose, made him a more caring person. "I believe that if we could ask Terry today if he would choose his life over how he inspired $800 million dollars for cancer research, he would still take the path that saw his sacrifice make a differ...ence. Cancer didn’t take anything from Terry. " Canadians made a promise of their own on September 1st, 1980 Terry’s dream of a world free of cancer would keep going without him. And it has, magnificently. Please help us continue to fund life-saving cancer research. Register and fundraise once again for the Terry Fox Virtual Run. One Day. Your Way. Fred Fox
