Postcast with Les Stroud and Mors Kochanski. This was done during the 2019 Global Bushcraft Symposium. One of the last interviews with Mors. Nicely done Les. Thanks so much. https://play.acast.com/s/surviving-life-with-/morskochanski

Mors Kochanski - Oct 11, 1940 +Dec 5, 2019 A year ago today we lost our mentor, teacher and friend, Mors Kochanski. This week as I started adding items to the Memorial Museum, I reflected on all the years, courses, conversations, and road trips I have taken with Mors. I remember my first course with him, doing plant ID for 2 1/2 days, walking on a floating bog, harvesting spruce roots and making a birch bark basket and canoe. Sleeping in a double parachuted woman's teepee and... eating the same stew for supper with a few extra ingredients added to bulk it up, doing a steam bath at the end of the course and having chamomile tea with him afterwards. I remember when we first starting doing courses together and I would watch him walk through the bush and think, now there is a man comfortable in his surroundings. Man he could move fast through the bush and not many could keep up. I miss him. I miss our conversations over tea and him showing us a new book he got or him presenting me with a quilting book from the second hand store. We did the winter course 2 months after his passing and it was very strange to not have him there, getting to know all the students names and asking them questions about themselves or him giving the introduction talk on "Defining Survival". Yeah, he is missed but not ever forgotten. Lori https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbmTeT-6_JI&feature=youtu.be
